2018 24.1 Vegas Inventory

This forum has been very helpful in identifying issues to look for as I continue to modify and correct problems. This isn't a Thor bashing thread but a list of issues I have had and have fixed or modified in the hopes it helps others. Please feel free to add other problems that you have had and that I should check specifically for the 2018 Vegas/Axis

Dog House not insulated, now insulated
Roof A/C cold air leak, sealed and modified
Dash A/C harness not connected
Mud flap with carriage bolt inserted in round hole, cannot tighten
Slide drawers with loose screws and not enough of them
Water pump power wire not crimped, just fell out (see pic)
Holding tank wires hanging down
Heater duct hose disconnected (see pic)
Duct hoses on top of chassis battery
Radio needed updating and modified
Cabinets with all missing a 3rd bolt (Pic)

Items still to evaluate
Tail light potential leaky gasket
Roof sealant
Windows sealed

What items am I missing that need to be checked?

Thanks

I dont have a 2018 but my 2017 has almost the same list that you have that I had to fix myself (Loose heat duct,Dog house not insulated, Roof AC mods, Mud flaps loose, Holding tank heater dangle, drawer screws missing, Duct on battery).

They are very close in design anyways so im sure most of the Axis/Vegas will have the same problems.

Well my water pump was always surging until I put an expansion tank to cure it.

I used about 150 zip ties under the RV and inside. Replaced about 20 screws that were either never used or fell out.

Check the junction box for loose connections (the one under the RV where the generator hooks up to the 120 V power in RV).

Tighten all of the connections / Screws inside the fuse box (120 v + 12V).

I think your list covers all of the common problems already.

If you think of an RV as a Scavenger Hunt where you don't know what you're looking for: but you hope that you don't find it anyway... it helps!
Good luck! The list will start shrinking, and you'll soon find out that it's all worthwhile!

Yep, same here. I have managed to check everything that Thor has made or touched and fixed hundreds of big and small thing or potental problems before the happen.

Im the same way. Fix it now before I hit the road. Or at least look at it and have a spare part or the tools to fix on the road.

Could you tell us what sort of expansion tank you used? Thanks.

Hi all! Can anyone explain the cold air leak on the roof A/C? I've searched and can't seem to find a thread. Also, is it normal for the condensation just leak down the side of the MH?

This is our first MH. We are about 2 months into ownership and this forum has already been a HUGE help, so thanks in advance!

Congratulations cofred and welcome to the site (make sure you download Ed's excellent crowd sourced owner's manual if you haven't already: http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f10...nual-4961.html ).

What do you mean by cold air leak in the roof A/C? leaking where? to outside?

Your other question: Yes there is no proper drainage for the A/C condensation so it just goes where it wants to (usually right over the door).

Thanks JamieGeek! I did download Ed's owner's manual and I think I've already referenced it about 50 times!

Re: the cold air leak, I was referring to the OP comment "Roof A/C cold air lear: sealed and modified". I had not come across this issue before and was wondering if I needed to look into it.

Ah; well have you used the A/C in hot temps yet? There are a few easy mods for the A/C that can improve its performance (like taking the vents off the ceiling and blocking the duct that goes to nowhere).

No, hasn't been too hot yet, but I'll definitely find this "duct to nowhere"!

Thanks!

I purchased a small one off of Amarzon for RV's. It was like $29 or so. Works great. Eliminated the surging of the water pump..... plus you have just about enough pressure to wash your hands super quick without the water pump kicking on (or a quick flush of the toilet). That way its nice and quiet at night if someone is sleeping. One of my favorate mods.

Plus I insulated the PEX lines around the water pump so its much quieter when it is running.
