2018 AXIS 25.2 Awning

Hi All - new to forum and recently purchased new to me 2018 Thor AXIS 25.2 Is there a lock out to prevent awning from extending? Seems like there should be. I accidently hit the awning extend switch when reaching for battery off switch. Very surprised when awning started to extend. Could have been a problem since I was not parked with adequate room for the awning to extend. I was able to stop and retract awning before any damage.

Easy mistake to make. I plan on taking grandkids out from time to time. Seems like an accident waiting to happen. Did I miss where the lock out is? Or if no lock out has anyone added a lockout.

Thank for the help.

Stover

The awning is NOT supposed to operate with the engine running. That is the only lockout. No lockout for operator error. You could drill holes in the switch and use a pin to stop accidental operation, but why would you even disconnect the battery during a short stop? The disconnect is for storing the rig when not connected to SP.

I did drill 2 small holes and opened a paper clip to push thru. It works very well. A large safety pin might work as well.

Hi 16ACE27, My problem is I store the AXIS at my home. And unfortunately there is not space to safely open awning. My other concern is traveling with my young grandchildren. Switch is right there at floor level.

I did not know there is a lockout while motor is running. Good to know.

Cheers,
Stover
