2018 Axis Awning

Salesman told us extending the awning was one touch. When I do that, it fully extends, but doesn't stop and rolls back over the top. Is it supposed to stop on its own when fully extended. The shop said it functioned normally.

I would find the manual or the company that manufactures them and call them. That just sounds like it needs an adjustment or program to change its stop point.

Is it a Carefree of Colorado awning? (just asking because just about every Thor has that brand on it).

Your awning is acting correctly. There must be a reason the mfg did it that way. I know on my unit it took me a while to figure it out. It does however give you more options as to the length of the awning when going out.

It's a Carefree without the side uprights. I think the model is Latitude.

I still say give them a call: They will give you the manufacturer's recommended information (more than you can get on here). Then report back what they say for the rest of us LOL.

Going to call tomorrow. The videos I saw showed a Carefree switch housing, which we do not have.

Something is not set right. Ours goes out, a little beyond its full extent, would start to roll back over the top, but reverses until the lights are aligned properly and stops.

I've never let it go that far. I will try that tomorrow, thanks!

It's Working

Today I hit the button and let the awning go. It starts to roll over the top, then stops and goes back to where it should be.

Awning

I made the same mistake. When you push the bottom do not hold it just touch it! It will open and go about two inches past open then it folds back to the correct spot all by itself. If you hold the switch it will keep on going out as you described. Touch the bottom then watch it do it’s job. The same way on the return

Mine go's all the way out, then rolls back. Sounds like yours need some adjustment.

You would think there would be a way to adjust the parameters. Like on an automatic gate opener. You can adjust to what point the gate is fully "opened" and at what point the gate is "closed".

Check this link and click on technical documents. There are PDF instructions that may help you.

On My Axis one touch allows the awning to extend out rolls up at the end and re-tracks to allow the sun glare flap to hang down in front. Close the same way one touch. If you at some point open half way or stop while in opening process it will try to roll back over the top. I simply close then open again with one touch. You may need to repeat the process a couple of times to sink back up. Hope this helps.

Same here. The leds on our units are on the base of the unit. you can turn them on with awning in or out. My salesman said that it will retract on its own if too windy. anyone know if this is true?

You should be able to test this "windy retraction" by gently pushing a couple of times on the awning (while extended of coarse). I see videos of this on youtube.
