Propane Line Rubbing

Just curious if anyone on this forum has heard of problems with recent Thor Freedom Elites with the propane line rubbing against a spring leaf shackle. I saw it in a Facebook message but haven't been able to check out my 2018 30FE yet as it is all nice and covered for the winter. The problem has not triggered a recall to my knowledge.

When my Axis was like 6 mo old I used about 125 zip ties (no joke) underneath it securing wires and the hoses including the propane lines. I even added some protection (left over rubber hoses and foam insulation) in spots that it looked like it might rub the propane lines over time.

I try to check everything once or twice a year to makes sure everything looks okay.

Also added some caulk / spray foam where the body (Walls) meet the floor and to the cargo boxes to help seal out water and bugs.

The issue I was referring to was specific to late model Freedom Elites (or there cousins) with an issue of the propane line rubbing a spring shackle. But I like the idea of getting under and using a ton of zip ties to make sure.

26HE 2017 freedom elite I too used lots of wire ties in the under carriage! I did notice the propane line too free and of course tied it up! My major concern was mud flaps with only two bolts and reading where they came loose and caused a flat tire! My next concern was the bottom of the exterior walls had 8 or so broken or missing screws also bare plywood that if getting wet would travel up into the walls and rot. I used good caulking to seal everything I could as well as caulking around everything from windows to basement doors to roof covers and especially the trimming above slide outs and awning! Lot of work but will be worth it in the long run!

When and if we ever sell these things, we can list them as "Thor Forum Certified". That in itself would speak many upgrades and improvements and maybe they'd be worth a few thousand more.

Yeah that would be sweet...... I figured in 8 to 10 years when Im ready to sell the old Axis I would advertize here first along with all of my mods. I think folks on the forum would apprciate a good RV with tons of useful mods.

Well my Axis is a "cousin" as well. Its on the E450 chassis. Same thing as C class but with an A body on it.

But perhaps the propane tank is in a different position as well as were my propane assessories are located inside (which will dictate the routing of hoses under the RV). Mine leave the tank and go over to the curb side where all 4 of my propane assessories are located at (stove, frig, furn, HW heater). No where close to the leave springs/shackles.

But (IMO) we all need about 100 + extra zip ties under the RVs to support hoses and wires properly.
