Question Hood guard for rocks?

I’m wondering if anyone uses a hood or some sort of a front end grill guard to help prevent damage from rocks, etc. when on the road? If so, can you give me a recommendation? I have a class C, E-450 chassis.

Anything that'll fit on the appropriate year and series Ford van should fit.

You could get something like this, but I'm not sure how much good it would really do. They call it a bug deflector, but I get most of the bugs on the front bumper and overhead cap, not the hood or windshield. This also looks like it would make it harder to wash and dry the hood.

After 55K miles I have just a couple of small nicks on the leading edge of the hood, nothing noticeable. If this is a concern, I think some protective tape would be a better solution.
