Advice

Purchasing a new 2018 Thor Palazzo, 36.3. Any advice or opinions from Palazzo owners?

Do you own a Palazzo? Are you happy with it? What year? What model? I posted on a RV FB page same question, several people slammed Thor. Telling me stay away from all Thor products. I just can’t imagine they’d be in business, making several makes of RV’s, if they were that bad.

Hi Kate!
Welcome to our little "place in the Sun"!
One thing that folks like to do more than anything else, is complain on the internet!
Having said that: Thor doesn't build a "perfect" RV. If they did: we probably couldn't afford it anyway.
When you pick out your dealer and your rig: that's when things get serious! Make sure that the pre-delivery inspection is more than thorough! If any problems are found: make sure that they are fixed before you bring the rig home. (or at least arrange for the repairs at the most convenient time.)

It DOES turn out to be worth it!

All RVs are rolling earthquakes. Be prepared for components to get loose. Carry a multi tip screwdriver and an assortment of screws

We have a 2016 Palazzo 33.2 and love it. We just got it this year used pretty much hoping the "new" problems were fixed and so far so good. Still getting used to it as compared to our last coach. Last weekend we did a long weekend trip about 5 hours from our place to North Platte, NE including about 120 miles on 2 lane state highways and the coach was awesome. We got 10 MPG pulling the towed.

Thanks for your reply.
And yes, there are so many negative comments, example, “no Thor” and “do not buy any Thor products.” But when I ask why, they don’t respond.
We are now changing our minds from the 2018 to the 2019 Palazzo.

Very happy to hear that you love your Palazzo.
Thanks for commenting.
We are changing from a 2018 to a 2019. They hadn’t begun to prep the 2018, so it’s not too late.
Continued good luck and happy travels with your Palazzo!!

The fun is actually in the shopping; isn't it?
So enjoy the process!

Wow!
Can I take you shopping with me; the next time that I need to buy windshield wipers for my car?

I think that's the same reason my wife wouldn't let me near the Martin Guitar factory last summer.

Not a Palazzo, but we purchased a 2017 Challenger in January of 2017. It has had it's fair share of stuff go wrong, but nothing major and everything was covered under warranty by Thor. They have always been responsive and either met or exceeded our expectations.

We spent weeks shopping. We looked at Forest River, Newmar, Tiffin, and Fleetwood. All had slightly different things that we either liked or didn't like. In the end we felt like we got the most bang for our buck with Thor.

Besides bang for your buck, we also feel Thor has provided us with good customer service. Lastly, this forum is a definite plus for the brand! So much wonderful experience, help, and advice here.

Find a GOOD DEALER. So many of the problems people have with service after the sale are due to dealer ineptness, not Thor.

Just make sure you are realistic in your expectations, have patience, and understand what it means to be a motor home owner. Sometimes it's a full time job, but the miles and memories are definitely worth it!

Also not a Palazzo, but our Aria had a few problems from the start, and Thor has been excellent to deal with. Now, after 10 months, I find that I am so happy with our coach, I almost can't remember the issues it had.

Well, while shopping, fell in love with 37.4. Changed our minds on the 36.3. Never did this before. Sure hope we like it.
