Aside maybe from size what is the appeal of a residential fridge? I’m not being critical of anything, I just don’t see value in having a major appliance that depends so heavily on batteries.

I think that that they cool through a different process; that actually is less fussy about being level...
But just how they do it; is a mystery to me!

Advantages to both...previous TT had dual gas/120. Loved the fact you could park her at the race track with fridge on gas and leave it for days. Cooling isn't as even, some area inside fridge will freeze lettuce and small stuff as there is no fan running. New coach has res fridge. Wasn't a big fan of these but have come to appreciate the convenience of it. Ice maker is wonderful and fridge is much bigger for the long haul. Our plan is to hit the road next year and travel extensively. If I had purchased this as a weekender or for occasional camping, I would have bought a model with gas fridge. For me, the Division Bell is where can you store it (with power available or not) and how often will you use it.

I do it when the weather is hot to run the air conditioner. I have had no problems. I owned a class B 2016 Winnebago with a propane generator and traded it in for a 2018 THOR Siesta 24SS class C with a diesel generator. The new coach is wonderful and THOR has been great with customer service. I have never had any issues on the road running the generator.

Smile 2018 THOR Siesta 24 SS with summit package

The only issue I have had since my purchase is trying to figure out how everything works. Not too much information was given to me with the new coach so I have had to rely on the internet and word of mouth from others. I love the new coach with all of the new technology. THOR customer service has been great.

We took a clear shower curtain and tucked it partly under the overhead bunk letting the curtain hang down to the floor. This keeps the cab ice cold while driving. Works great as long as theirs only two of you,

We have run the generator as you should do it monthly anyway. So we've been known to take it to the local grocery parking lot running generator, do grocery shopping and return home to get generators monthly run in.

Sales person, who comes from a family of RVers, strongly recommend running the generator and main AC unit while driving. He was right, keeps thing nice and cool even on nasty hot days.
