Auto Levelers. Opinions, Choices

2017 Sprinter Citation 24SR

One of my required specs didn't come with my rig. What are your thoughts on Big Foot, Equalizer type systems that they make for sprinter rigs.

I have two stabilizer jacks and thinking I can remove those, the extra blocks I carry for leveling and hopefully make up the added weight with these type of system. Weight is an issue. Getting close on the bubble.

pros/cons of systems. Looks like another $3K out the window.

HWH levelers installed by HWH factory in Moscow Iowa. Paided $3,900 June 2017. Order thru LichtsinnRV rather than HWH for better pricing. IMO, HWH is the best when it comes to RV leveling.

I had an HWH hydraulic auto leveling system installed in ours. Works great, love it. They make a bolt on kit for the Sprinter chassis.

I had an HWH kick down leveling system installed on our Vegas by Stuart's in Elkhorn, IN. They are right up the street from the Vegas/Axis factory.

It has worked great for us and the way we travel. (Lots of different overnight stops.) The HWH factory is in eastern Iowa, just off of I-80.

I been investigating the Big Foot system for my Axis. They have it on sale rigth now for the Sprinter and Ford E350/E450 chassis = $1988. Plus $150 for bolt on kit (or you can weld it with kit).

This looks like the best one for someone like me to bolt on myself over a weekend.

I guess shop around and see what looks best for you.

Following up on this. The plan is to head west from Massachusetts and stop “somewhere” to get autolevelers for the Sprinter. Rather do a manufacturer or certified installers. Appreciate the responses above. Still happy? More comments?

I've got the Equalizer system, and it works great.

Had the Big Foot system installed on our E350 chassis. Love it! We didn't get the fully automatic system so I have to tweek the final level BUT I never have to worry about it losing it's calibrated -0- position either.
Had it installed at the factory in White Pidgeon, MI. Took about 3 hrs.

What was your price including installation, if I may ask?

I'm only about an hour north of Elkhart. What did you pay for yours including install?

Sorry, don't have that figure in my head. Your setup might be different, and ours was installed 4 years ago. You need to get current price quotes.

Ours was right at $2000 but I got it during the same sale Long and Winding did. The current price for the platinum system is $2195 plus $300 installation for the E series chassis.

That sounds quite reasonable. I'm only about an hour and a half from their HQ, so it might make sense for me to go there rather than pay the dealer if the price difference is great.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah I highly recommend Big Foot to anyone. Not only are the the most reasonably priced Hydro levelers on the market.... they work great.

Glad to help. Just my opinion but I would always trust the manufacture on a system install like this over a dealer especially if you're that close. I'm about the same distance south in Indiana, a big part of our choice.

Wow, prices must have shot up! I just got off the phone with them and it's about $4200 out the door. Wonder why so much now?

Which system and which chassis? The fully automatic system is quite a bit more.
