Our dash AC hasn't worked from the date of delivery. We have one more trip to take before we can get it to the dealer so we'll go with cabin AC on this next trip.

I bought my Aria from MotorHome Specialists in Alvarado Texas. We loved the design of the 3901. We ordered one and it took about 3 months to get it. I can’t think of anything that has not been broken, or need of replacement or repair. It took about a year and a half to get 80% of the faulty parts and poor quality workmanship reworked. It’s better now but still have issues with GFI constantly tripping. Haven’t found anyone that can diagnose and repair in the RV business. Thor is only customer service in name. Most of the reps are unconcerned and just don’t want to be bothered. I am committed to making this one work, but I would never recommend Thor products to anyone. I wish you the best of luck with your Thor Aria. I would never feel comfortable selling this unit to another person,
Go see quality rv repair in Alvarado. They just moved their business there. Very good guys. If anyone can figure it out, they can. Tell them I sent you.

Thanks, I will give them a try.
Recently I got this reply from Thor. Remind you that it has been changed out with two different ones already, one from me, and one from dealership, and dozens of others having done the same thing, but this is their fix:

If you pull the gfi out ( breaker for sub panel turned off first ) and change the brand of the GFI , this should resolve the issue.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding the GFCI trips, I solved that by replacing the ME2012 with a MS2012.

It was an admittedly expensive fix, but it solved the annoying GFCI trips and some weird problems with various electronic devices (laptop touchpads and touch screens, cellular hotspot, etc.)

Jtyphold what year and model of Aria do you own? If you don't mind sharing how much was the upgrade of the invertor?

We have a 2018 Aria 3401 and the MS2012 was around $1300. I did the work myself, so no labor cost. The ME2012 and MS2012 have identical mounting and electrical connections, so it was a straightforward swap.

I'm going to try to sell my ME2012 to defray some of the cost.

Note that there are 3 different models of ME2012, one without a suffix, the ME2012-15B, and the ME2012-20B. Make sure to get the matching MS2012 model.

Greenfield3, sorry for answering so late. We bought our Aria on May 9, 2019. Finally, after contacting Camping World Corporate, I finally got a full refund at the end of July. Our Aria is still at repair shop going on week #3 for dash a/c repair. I was told it will be ready the first of next week.

Wow. After reading this and the Thor complaints page on Facebook, Thor is off my list. I really liked the 4000 but no way will I go through what many of you have gone through. Go and read the Entegra or Newmar forums. You will not see these problems.

We are looking at DP bunkhouses and have reviewed the floorplans and on-line reviews for the Aria 4000, the Newmar Ventana 4326, the Berkshire XL 40C and the Discovery 38N. All of the forums show quality issues and most are the same regarding long wait times for repair etc.. Based on research we have narrowed our choice down to the Aria 4000 and the Berkshire XL40C. Right now the Aria 4000 is a 2020 model while the Berkshire is still a 2019.
Since my prior coach was a Forest River I have experience with both Forest River and Thor.

My local dealer (recently purchased by Camping World) normally has about 30 - 35 RVs in their awaiting service lot at any given time. Yesterday I noticed 2 Newmar Ventanas sitting there and interesting enough the only Thor was a Freedom Elite. I'm not sure about the towables because I don't follow one brand to the other in that category.

The Service waiting area of a large dealer can tell a story.

One other thing I found is that features that are standard on the Aria (such as solar, induction cooktop, outside LP disconnect etc...) are either expensive options or non-existent on other brands.

For me, having been in both the Newmar and Thor, the difference in quality in the Newmar does not justify the 100K difference in price. I hope to see the Berkshire in person at the Hershey show this year.

Since we are not considering an upgrade until next we are continuing the research and I know things will change. I noticed Newmar has discontinued the Ventana Bunkhouse with 2 full baths and now only offer a 1 1/2 bath model. Things changes.

Just food for thought and FWIW.

I'm going with Entegra. It's priced between Newmar and Thor and I can live with that.

“Thor complaints page on Facebook” - I’m sure that’s a fair a balanced view of reality... lol
All brands have their issues... buy what you like, can afford, do a thorough PDI, have a good dealer and have your eyes open.
Enjoy!

I just got a picture of the problem with my a/c dash air and it is the compressor with a hole big enough to put your fist in. When it exploded, that was the loud noise we heard. I took it into Freightliner for a recall on the turn signal module and told them the dash air was not working. The idiot that diagnosed it at Freightliner said that it was a coach problem not a Freightliner problem. I hope that Carolina Coach and Marine in Claremont, NC is going to fix the problem, because I have no faith in the Freightliner dealer being able to fix it when they could not even diagnose it.

Welcome to the Thor family. Entegra is the Diesel Pusher line for Jayco, as of 2008, which is owned and operated by Thor Industries and Thor motorcoach.

"Thor Industries – the parent company of more than a dozen RV subsiduaries –purchased Jayco Inc. for $576 million in a cash deal that includes the acquisition of Jayco, Starcraft RV, Highland Ridge and Entegra Coach."

Research is important.

We're getting ready for our 2nd road trip in our 2019 Aria 4000 and will report back mid-September. We've also picked up a front/rear dash cam due to all of the road warriors turning in front of us nearly causing a number of accidents. We will prosecute to the fullest should we be hit....

Our current list of repairs remains rather small; after our first road trip we really love the coach and plan to go full time in a couple of years!
More to follow,

Have a safe trip. Please report back to the form. It’s a huge help for those of us that are new at this.

Berkshire is lipstick on a pig. Stay away from Forest River. It is crap.

Questions about the Aria 4000

A couple of questions about the Aria 4000.

First, is there a 110 outlet around the bed so someone can plug in a CPAP machine?

Second, how many emergency exit windows are in the coach? I was looking at a 40 ft DP bunkhouse today that has 4. It has one in the rear bath, one in the master bedroom and one for each bunk. That coach is the Coachmen Sportcoach 407FW.

Is there anything in particular that I should look for when checking out an Aria 4000? In other words what are the quirks for this model?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
