Auto weather awning retract

Woke up this morning and my patio awning of my 2019 Hurricane 34j was retracted. Is there some sort of wind detection on it? It was windy this morning so it seems likely but I have never heard of this nor can I find any info about it.
Thanks!

Is it a Carefree awning? I've got one with a sensor...
But I always chicken-out, and retract it before the wind forces it to shut on it's own...

Don't know how to tell. Can't seem to add pictures on this forum. I usually pull it in when it gets windy....but I didn't last night.

In my humble opinion: it's best to be vigilant, and never need it...

I answered my own question.

I went up and shook the awning end a bit. It began to retract automatically. So there you go.

Nice feature

I have the Carefree of Colorado awning but it DOES NOT have the Auto Retract Sensor.

If you have Auto Retract are you glad you have, or would you want it if bought a new coach without it?

My experience after about 8 months.
1. Where the switches are located it is easy for something to mistakenly flip, I can easily notice the awning light on when it should NOT have been, but due to light inside, you can tell it needs to be turned off.
2. If you do mistakenly flip the extend switch, mine will not fully extend, you have to hold it down for it to really extend.
3. One time a gust of wind came, I freaked out opening door and saw the awning swaying; so I start to retract and as I was pulling it in , it made easier to catch wind like a parachute and I just new it was going to break, so I stopped and re-extended it to where it was fully stretched, after a minute of so; the gust died and I retracted back in with no harm done.

I think that would be a great feature for night, or if you are away from your coach and left the awning out.

The Carefree of Colorado Latitude patio awning is usually equipped with a motion sensor (not a wind sensor). It is located in the forward roll cap. Power is always supplied to the awning's controller, so the awning can retract anytime the coach's batteries are connected to the power center and the motion sensor activated. And yes there is an ignition interlock that removes patio awning power anytime the coach's ignition is on. An operators manual is available on CoCs website if you did not receive one in your Thor manuals packet.

This is great info! Twice we were away from rv during windy weather and worried about the awning. Got back to rv park it was retracted. Much better than thinking someone had a key and came in and retracted it, nice but creepy.
