Has anyone had to replace the shifter linkage cable?
We have less than 20,000 miles and yesterday while at a campground went to move out of park and was unable to shift into gear. After 2 hr wait mechanic said shifter cable was burned thru do to resting on manifold, also found it had been mounted onto the wrong side of chassis. Now costing about 400.00 to fix.
Seems awful soon to have such a problem
Curious if this is a common problem

I have seen this post before on older models (2014 - 16). I wouldnt think it would be that hard (just ackward to reach). Have you search this site for this problem yet? Or just do a generic search on Yahoo or You tube?

Yes, Long and Winding is correct about there being older discussions about that issue in the Forum. There was a service bulletin from Ford as I recall for some of the units that had the shifter cable getting burned by the exhaust manifold. Our 2016 had a problem with adjustment right from the beginning which I had handled by the local Ford dealer. It caused me to not be able to remove the key from the ignition. Irritating but fairly minor issue that they can easily correct.

I saw the older thread, and I have reached out to Thor customer service to see if they will step up to the plate and take care of the problem. Total cost to repair at local Ford dealer is a little over $400. I'm not getting my hopes up, but can only ask for some type of reimbursement from Thor. The $400. Didn't include the $120.00 to have a mobile mechanic come to our campsite and get us back up and running.

I hope that they DO step up to the plate for you, and get you back up and running.
After all: nobody likes being described as "Shiftless"!

The long discussion about this can be found here:

We checked ours and managed to catch it before the coach was undrivable.
