Smile Freedom Elite 29FE, signed the papers today

We have been looking at RVs for a few weeks and have finally decided on the Freedom Elite 29Fe. . This was actually one of the first RVs that we looked at and have not been able to find anything in our price range that we liked better.
We signed to papers today and will take delivery on Tuesday. Very excited about our purchase!! It has the outside kitchen area with the refrigerator and sink which I love. It has plenty of storage for long trips but is still not too big for me to be comfortable driving it. I really like the floor plan, it has the all in one bathroom which was one of my requirement. Our current RV has the split bathroom, and I have never liked that. The only thing that was on my wish list that it does not have is the right/passenger side camera. I drive the RV most of the time, and I always feel that I don't have a good view of the cars coming up on my right side. May have to consider having one installed. It does have the backup camera though.
Would love to hear from other Freedom Elite owners.
If anyone has had an after market camera installed, please post your experience with it. Thanks!!!!

Condolences. I have the same unit.

Please get a thorough pre delivery inspection and pay attention and participate in the inspection. Extend and retract the slides multiple times. Listen for any grinding noises, particularly in the kitchen slide. Does it move in and out freely and evenly. If there is any indication of grinding or binding don't take the "that's just normal" from the Tech. Oh by the way, a salesman sells and often knows nothing about the unit and how it operates so hopefully you have a technician do the walk through.

Moving right along, have them show you how to sync the slides, show you where the controllers are located and how to do an override. Extend and retract the awning and have them demonstrate how you can manually retract it when it fails.

It was probably shipped with a water filter cartridge and a wrench. It just doesn't have a water filter. Go figure.

Your low point drains are located under the shower pan and are accessed by removing the small panel on the side and bottom of the shower in the bathroom.

Check your tank heaters from underneath the coach. They are loosely installed and often drop down, requiring a roll or two of Gorilla Tape. Also, you have a second black dump valve on the curb side behind the door in front of the rear wheel. It's not marked and the tech will probably skip over it.

These are a few things that come to mind. Good luck. We love ours.

My 2017 26 ft FE has been a joy. Many small adjustments and repairs that I did myself. I look at these as an opportunity to learn about how my coach works and try not to get frustrated or annoyed with Thor. There is tremendous vale in the FE line - mine cost less than a “nice” pickup truck! Have a wonderful time and enjoy the journey!

Does this rig have a convex mirror section? I learned to rely on that along with the regular big flat mirror long before there were side cameras. Part of the trick is to check it more often than you would in a car, and keep track of the vehicles that come up from behind. Sometimes it seems to me that the camera screens are a distraction, rather than a useful tool.

Keep to the right lane when possible, slowing down some won't make you that much later to your destination. You won't have to worry about cars coming up on your right.

I have cameras in mirrors. I like the convex mirror better. The video isn’t very good and you need turn signal on to activate.

I've found the exact same thing to be true
But I'll take all of the help that I can get!

Usually you have made the turn or lane change before the camera comes on.

A couple of days ago, the Site Administrator mentioned that there might be some problems, and they were nailing things back together as fast as possible.!
You should be "good to go" by now!

Smile First trip in the books!!!

We took our first trip in our new Freedom Elite 29FE. We absolutely LOVE IT!!! The RV is so nice to travel in. We went north to visit family for Thanksgiving and were up there for about a week. Took I 95 on the way there, but decided to take the scenic route home. We went to I 70 W and then south on I 81. It was a very nice trip. The RV was great to drive. It handles so well in traffic. I truly enjoyed driving it! Has great pickup to pass slower traffic and didn't have that "sway" when trucks passed us. No rattles or squeaks. Just a very quiet comfortable ride. Our past 2 MH's had a lot of engine noice so you really had to speak up to hear each other. But no so with this one. Very easy to carry on a conversation. So glad we decided to get this one. Lots of RV for the price. JUST LOVE IT!!!
