Axis Max Water Pressure

I’ve searched the forum and Thor’s generic manual and cannot find max water pressure for city hookup. I have an adjustable pressure regulator and have it set to 48 right now. I would like to get it as high as possible for showers. Thanks.

I think they suggest no more than 55 on most RV. I put my pressure regulator at the end of the hose right before it enters the RV. Before I had it at the water hookup but I think it lost like 5# by the time it travels down a 50 foot hose.

Won't loose any pressure unless the water is flowing; Pascal said so.

I use one set for 50 psi, and everything seems to be working just fine!

True. However, Long and Winding did use the word “travel.”

Didn’t think to check what the preset regulators are set for.

We also use a regulator set at 50 ..... comes in handy when visiting campgrounds with low pressure .... can see what it is. Another thing we learned a week ago in Flagstaff, when the campground water supply failed due to a failed pump motor. Have a good supply of potable water on board. Some do not like to carry potable water due to the weight and fuel efficiency, but it can pay off in situations like we encountered.

Good idea! We have 2/3 on right now. Dealer filled it up for testing when we picked it up 3 weeks ago, otherwise it might be empty!

How many bottles of water; would it take to fill a 40 gallon tank?
You could always empty out the supply at the campground store!

Max Water Pressure

When I was a RV tech, we tested water lines to 60 PSI. Anything over 60 and you risk weakening pressed connections. And you have a lot of those in your RV. Most campgrounds will limit the pressure to 40.

And if you want additional pressure for the shower, change the wand in the shower to a water saving model. Mine works great at 40 PSI.

I wouldn't increase the incoming pressure to accommodate better flow in the shower, because that is only one of your water connections.

Just my $0.02

We just use the RV park/city water to fill the on board tank then disconnect.. run off the 12v pump exclusively...steady water pressure.
And if the city/ RV park water system has a pressure spike/loss of pressure or they have a water supply interruption.. does not affect us.
Was a very expensive lesson to learn..

Same here saddle...only turn park water on for showers. Otherwise, use the pump with city water off. And, I always keep tank full. It's part of the preparedness mindset in me.

We got an Oxygenics and put it on yesterday, big difference. I set the water pressure at 49, everything is good now. Thanks for the info!

Mark,
Just how tough is the conversion to an Oxygenics Shower Head?
(I have the mechanical skills of a hamster! )

LOL! Its no different than replacing a shower head at home: unscrew the old one, screw in the new one.

Guys...
Thanks for the reassuring words.
I don't ask because I don't know how to do these things: I ask because of physical limitations that may prevent me from being able to undtertake them...
53 years of Type I Diabetes is starting to wear a bit hard on the bones...
Poor vision, and peripheral neuropathy makes it tough to use tools in tight places.
But I do have a further question: how about the use of Teflon tape... is it necessary?

Bob, you need no tools or Teflon tape. The fitting that goes into the faucet does not need to be more than hand tight, made to seal that way.
