Towing Hitch Bicycle Rack

My original problem was; when I put my bicycles on my towed Jeep and put on a cover, the cover covered my lights in the back. A friend of my said that there was an extension you can put between your RV and the towed vehicle. I went out, bought one and put it on. This is what I have now. Looking at it, I am wondering; is this safe? Before I had two joints, now I have three! Also there is more length! Is this good? I could get the double hitch extension welded to the drop down?

I wouldn’t use it. Blue Ox says not to use more than two joints or hitch pins. Also the length would bother me and you’d likely need to extend your safety cables and such.

We have a Thule on the back. Holds two bikes away from the car. Why the cover? Bikes are made for the outside rain or shine. When we have four bike we put 2 inside the toad.

You are right, they are made for rain or shine. I just like to keep mine out of the rain as much as I can!

Why do you need the second doubler? Just put the bike rack in the unused receiver tube.
