Vin plate
Okay Stumped, my 2015 Thor ACE30.1 is in the shop for some insurance work. Got hit on rear quarter.
The insurance company wants the data off of the vin tag. ?????? What tag? Was told look by drivers seat left shoulder NOPE… well look in kitchen cabinets Nope… under Hood NOPE….
I’ve looked everywhere no luck. Any suggestions? Kinda wonder how vehicle was sold with no vin tag. Maybe was paper sticker an original owner removed. Illegal…who knows???
Thanks
Luke

The V.I.N. tag is metal. In your car: it can be found at the lower left front corner; right behind the windshield
(Right in front of the driver...)

The VIN will be on your title, registration and insurance certificate. No need to find one on the coach itself.

Nope not there. I thought might be like car or truck. Not even a place for it. Oh well
Thanks Bob

Yup it’s on all of those. I photographed and sent to insurance. They have yet to respond.
Thanks

That's where it's at on my 2016 ACE along with the tire pressure tag.

Remember there are two serial numbers for the MH.
From the "owners manual":
The motorhome serial number label is mounted on the inside wall next to the driver’s
seat on a Class A motorhome and on the inside of the driver’s door post on a Mini
motorhome. Refer to the chassis owner’s manual for the location of the chassis
vehicle identification number on all motorized motorhomes.
EDIT: Now even Thor (Four Winds) can get it wrong and what I have beside the drivers seat is this, which is the chassis nameplate, there is NO Thor nameplate beside the driver.
But I do have a Thor nameplate (w/axle load ratings) in the door jamb of the MH. And the door jamb one actually has two numbers... a serial number and a V.I.N. number.

Oh well no luck on mine. Manual says by driver but not there. Chassis vin on inside rail according to repair shop. Guess original owner removed. Is it a sticker or plate??
Thanks

Yup supposed to be metal but nothing.
Never seen a car or truck where it wasn’t there as you mentioned Bob. Guess Motorhomes don’t have a vin visible by windshield
Thanks

Ask the police how many vehicles they find w/o a VIN. I bet all were stolen....

Btw the sheriff’s were addressed with the situation. Hills borough Counties representative stated vin location on a motorhome is totally non universal. They have no clue where it could be or was. Now Ford stamps the chassis rail in two locations with the F53 vin. That becomes the Motorhome vin. The authorities know where that stamping is. My chassis is actually a 2014 build by Ford. Has a vin on rail.
I wonder how the stolen Motor home market is? No inside vin is scary.
Thanks

On my 2019 F53 the metal Ford embossed VIN tag is under the hood on the drivers side. It’s on a vertical bracket and reads sideways. Here’s mine (turned horizontally). My insurance adjuster needed a photo of it as part of the claim procedure when my catalytic converters was stolen.

That is also what it looks like on my 2018 Hurricane.

Mine is a paper tag right above the left driver armrest and below the driver side window. There are actually two. One for the motorhome and one for the chassis.
I addition, you should have that information on your insurance paperwork AND your vehicle registration paperwork.

As noted above, when I had an insurance claim my adjuster required a photo of the Ford metal VIN plate. It’s pretty sure that you have one under the hood somewhere on the part that Ford made. If all you’re going on is the Thor sticker it’s not a primary ID.
