black holding tank heating pad coming loose on my Hurricane.

black holding tank heating pad coming loose on my Hurricane. The leading edge of the heating pad on my black holding tank is starting to come loose has anyone found a Solution to repair this? Adhesive, Tape, or Glue. There must be something instead of having to buy new $$$.

No help as to the repair. My grey heating pad was loose too but still on first year warranty. With other items, it's in the shop now getting fixed. My service guy says he usually orders a whole new pad as it is hard to re-glue the pad.

similar thing happened to one of mine.
Honestly I can't remember which glue I used. Sorry.
Might have been some rubber/contact adhesive I had lying around.... or something else?

Mine too was under warranty at the time, but two minutes to crawl under vs appointment, driving to the dealer...arranging for my wife to pick me up..... no thanks.

Go to your local hardware and find a fairly aggressive glue that's ok for plastics and elastomers....

Both of mine on my 2015 have now come off. The first one the butcher/dealer just put some black tape over it and is calling it good. Now that the second one has let loose, it is an issue. Goes in on the 6th for them to finish other work. Want both replaced!

Same happened to me. Had some spray contact cement sitting around. Cleaned both surfaces with alcohol sprayed and pressed in place. Still doing good after a few months.

Problem Solved with Dicor, I Hope!

I cleaned the tank surface were the pad came loose and the pad with acetone and sprayed both surface with a spray adhesive. I then took a caulk gun with Dicor lap adhesive and went around the edges of the pad. If that don't hold the pad nothing will.

I used contact cement on my 2003 class C - worked perfect and held for three years till I traded it in last October!

I was able to find documentarion from the manufacturer of the heaters used on the Axis. They recommended 3M 90, after thoroughly cleaning the tank and the pad. I used copious amounts of lacquer thinner for the cleaning. So far so good,

I had the same problem on my 2016 24.1 Vegas. I like the solutions mentioned here but at 75 I'm not able to do those things anymore. I also question the quality control measures at Thor which allow this kind of basic failure to happen.

3M Weatherstrip adhesive, sold at just about any auto parts store. Works great for a lot of things, durable, holds well, weather won't bother it. Great stuff!

A number of the heating pads come with peel and stick adhesive so it may not be a Thor issue but rather a heating pad manufacturer's issue with the brand of adhesive being applied.

Hey Mel,

My pad came off and I used spray adhesive to reattach. As a precaution I also used Gorilla duct tape on all 4 sides.

I lost the one on my gray water tank and the black water one is coming loose.

Does anybody know where I can get a new pad? I assume they are 12 V pads, and I can find only 110 V ones.

If you Google RV Holding Tank heating pads you will get numerous results for both AC and DC pads.

Here is the result returned from Camping World

Tank Blanket - 40 Gallon, DC - Twenty-six Eleven Llc 61005 - Holding Tank Accessories - Camping World

Here is the result from Amazon for a combination 110 VAC 12 VDC pad

https://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-H.../dp/B000BGK1XE

If you don't like either Google it yourself and find the one you like.
