Talking

I am always working on being "a thread killer", something from the 'other' forum.

Sorry, but I wouldn’t dream of carrying crap filled toilet paper through the kitchen for disposal even if it was in a trash bag.
If I'm putting toilet paper in a bag, it's because i used this. Click image for larger version

Hello, all. I am reengaging this thread at 12:15 AM after partially clearing a clogged toilet on our Thor Hurricane 34F. We were having the "burping” then a clog. With a plunger I got the water in the bowl to flow and the burping to stop, but I see a pile of poop and toilet paper. So I’ve partially fixed the problem - water flushes but there’s still a problem.

It sounds like I may have to do what the original poster described. Is this, while maybe not common, something others have had to do? I. Glad tomorrow is Friday if I have to do this repair. This is a first as I have always been careful to have water in the black tank to keep things wet, but something happened here.

Thanks for your time.

Your plumbing has to cross over from pass side to drivers side to find tank. If you can see it, take a pole and help loosen it up so it’ll flow on down to the tank. Probably set up like concrete in a 90 degree bend. If you’re hooked up to sewer, run water down at same time. Should eventually move on down.

I may have caught it early. The “pile” directly below the toilet disappeared overnight as "water is my friend." as I believe I read somewhere in this thread. I can also hear water gurgling underneath as it drains, and the tank suddenly went from showing ⅓ to ⅔ full. I’ll try to get a length of PEX pipe today to clear it out further.

What are you planning to do with that pet pipe?

I guess I should have elaborated! LOL

It's to help loosen anything in the pipe. There's no more visible pile/clog, so I want something flexible to run down from the toilet and help beak up anything down the line since I can’t see anything now.

Yours must have toilet on passenger side, opposite the actual tank. That means you’ve got a 90 degree turn just beneath the toilet. And another 90 degree turn at top of tank. I have no idea how much drop you have in the pipe to the tank but you’re going to need to use a lot of water with each flush. And I’d get a snake instead of pex pipe. That hollow middle could be quite messy.

Well, I did what I had to do with an on the road repair. [emoji1695] It turned out not to be blocked but a bit clogged. I never had a backup, just a slowdown. I got the “stuff” moved and all has been well.

I did develop a new technique. About an hour before draining the black tank I use the ice cube trick, but not to clean things off the sensors. I dump all the ice from the ice maker in the toilet and get it down below. Then (with toilet valve closed) I pour a gallon of water into the bowl, then flush. The weight of the water dropping in and pushing chunks of ice moves anything remaining in the crossing pipe and into the main tank. After an hour the cubes have melted and I drain the tanks as normal.

We are also more aware of using plenty o’ water when using the toilet for certain ops. [emoji6]

I had no problems after that incident. Oh, I got rid of the “sacrificial PEX”. [emoji16]

Black tank clog??

Hey New 2022 Four Winds 28A. I think my kids may have either used too much paper or not enough water. My black tank is full and I can’t get tank to empty.

Tried clearing from outside but nothing came out. Can’t get past toilet ball without toilet backing up.

No Poop. I’m at a loss on how to empty tank or access clog

Did you open the second dump valve on the passenger side?
