Cab Bunk Ladder Upgrade

Just wanted to show my low cost fix for an adult to be able to get safely and comfortably up and down from cab over bunk. We upgraded the sleeping area with 3" gel foam mattress topper, so it is actually comfortable to sleep in. The problem was the 12" wide straight up and down ladder with the narrow rungs that came with the RV. I made this ladder with a 5' step ladder and a piece of aluminum angle iron. Works great and its actually lighter than the stock ladder.

That is a truly nice mod.
The stability must be a 1,000% improvement.

Now... What can we make from your old ladder?

Thanks Ducksface! Let me know if you think of something cool for the old ladder, for now its just collecting dust in the pole shed.

That’s a cool idea. I really wish that big ladder was collapsable for better storage

I just store it up in the bunk, where do other people store their ladders?

We have two the big one goes in the master bedroom and then the smaller one for the rear bunks fits under the cushions of the over head bunk

Absolutely! No sleeping up there without the 3" gel foam topper!

Ladder

Wow, I like that! I have an ACE 30.3 and the provided ladder is not acceptable at all for an adult to climb up and down on. My bud would be able to sleep up there now I think!😄

Could you use the old ladder on the outside ladder to the roof? Will it reach the ground from the bottom of the rear ladder?
