It may depend on your RV, but at least in our Thor Hurricane, the dinnet seat facing forward has seatbelts installed from factory ( not on the rear facing seat for safety).
The opinion of the Youtuber, is wrong, because when closed, the slide is supported by the trim, that's why it doesn't need rollers for support.
What I would avoid is seating on the slide while it's moving in or out basically to avoid adding unnecessary weight for the motor to handle.
But that's my opinion and its about our particular unit.
For definite answer... Call your manufacturer or check the owner's manual for your unit.
