Carefree Awning Adjustments

I have a Thor ACE 30.4. I would like to adjust the pitch on my Carefree Awning. I watched the Thor demonstration and I tried their explanation but I could not do the adjustment.

I pushed the elbow joint, as they explained, towards the RV, to reduce pressure on the pins. But it would not stay in place.

Does anyone have a step by step explanation? I need help!

Thanks!

Dan

Run the awning all the way out. Disconnect all power from the coach and turn the use/store switch to store. The patio awning will retract if juggled when the power is on. Support the end of the roller where you want to adjust the tilt. You need to lift the roller end up about two ft to unload the adjustment pin. An 8 foot step ladder with a little cribbing works great. You can now screw the pin out or in. Careful: a little adjustment goes a long way.

Plant 750 coaches from 2016 on use the Carefree of Colorado Latitude patio awning. The tilt adjustment is done by Allen headed cap screws - upper and lower on each mounting bracket. The cap screws are usually installed with an impact driver and can be difficult to loosen.

Here's a link to carefree for pdfs, you'll need to figure out which awning you have.

https://www.e-carefree.com/ecarefree30/product-library

We have a Latitude so I downloaded all PDF's for the latitude.
