Ceiling on 2014 Tuscany 40RX

I recently bought a used Tuscany 40RX. I used a professional inspector to check it out before purchase.
After living in it for a couple weeks now, I’ve noticed the vinyl ceiling has some weird feelings in places.
Most of it is soft and pliable like I think it should be but some areas actually feel like the vinyl has hardened like a piece of hard plastic. It even sounds different when I click my fingernails on it.
I was wondering about possible leaking in the past but I pulled a couple light fixtures out and all the visible styrofoam was snow white, no signs of discoloring or mold.
What would cause the vinyl to harden up like that?
