Challenger Accent Lights Front of Motorcoach

Hello!
I am a new owner of a 2015 Challenger and joined this forum. My previous rig was a Keystone Montana 5th wheel.
So far I have found answers to many questions and thank everyone for all the great posts! I do have one question that may be an easy answer. There are accent LED strips below the headlights that for the life of me I cannot figure out how to turn them on. I have tried every switch I can find. I would greatly appreciate any help!
Thanks!
Jim

Jim,

On my Challenger they are hardwired (no switch) and come on when I turn the ignition switch to the on position. If yours don't come on when the key is turned on you may want to have the dealer look at them or trace the wiring back to see if there is a loose connection.

Thanks, Dave!
I will check it out and see. I haven't tried that yet.

Jim,

If that doesn't work actually start the engine.

Which model Challenger do you have?

We have the 37GT.
For some reason I thought those lights were for night illumination at a campsite rather than a running type light.
Thanks
Jim

The LED strip on the awning lights up a camp site very well. Mine drew a lot of interest during my last trip.

The LED accent lights under the headlights on my Vegas come on when the chassis key is on.

The LED strip on my awning draws a lot of comments in the RV park as well. What is neat is that you can vary the effect it gives by where you position it. If I roll out the awning so that the strip is pointing straight down it casts the light straight on the ground away from the coach. If I position the awning roller so the strip is shining on the coach it lights the side of the coach directly. If I roll it up slightly more so that the strip is pointing at the white underside of the awning it provides a subtle indirect lighting for the area around the coach.

The awning led's are very nice. We love the look and the effect. I didn't think about re positioning them to vary the effect, that is very cool, thanks for the info, Ed!

Dave, on your Challenger, does the entry door grab handle that is to the left of the entry door light up? I have seen several coaches where these handles are illuminated. Maybe they didn't bother because of the awning led's also.

Thanks

I have the Hurricane 31S. Lights come on with ignition. I agree about the use of the awning LED lights the same as bevedfelker. We use them the same way.

I don't remember about the door handle, but pretty sure it does not light up, lights on or not.

Can't check, because its back at the dealer for some replacement parts, and a newly discovered water leak left and right sides of the windshield. Some water came in when the coach was on a down slope leaving the last campground when it rained the previous night. Water showed up as drips from the inside horizontal finished naugahyde, or whatever that is across the top of and interior side of the windshield.

No the handle does not light. I wish it did.

Just an update, the accent lights on the front do turn on with the ignition key, thanks again for the information.
I am with you on the handle, it would be nice if it was a light also.

Call Thor, it could be a fuse somewhere.

I had accent light fall off and Thor sent me a new one. Now I have the new one a lot brighter than the old one.

Check your fuses, they are hard wired so something isn't making the circuit completed.

This sounds like a future mod for somebody. may require drilling, to run some wires, and a LED light

Last time we were at Disney World Fort Wilderness there was an Airstream in the site across from us and it had entry handles that were clear with blue LED lights in it.

Here's a link for a lighted entry handle: http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...rab-handle.htm

I use that for emergency roadside storage area. That is where I have my highway warning triangles, a tire pressure gauge, flashlight, a couple clean rags (strategically placed to minimize items from shifting and rattling) and a second first aid kit. It's not good for "secret storage" since its location is plastered all over the internet.

Thanks for mentioning this, I had no idea there was storage under there. More storage is most always a good thing!
