Challenger and Miramar 100 gal Water Tank

Hey folks,

Getting ready to sanitize the fresh water system on the coach for first use and have a question.

Does anyone know if the 100 gallon fresh water tank on the Challenger and/or Miramar is baffled to reduce sloshing while driving with less than a full tank? My initial thought is that it would not be baffled, however, it would be nice if it is.

I doubt that it is. Travel with it either nearly full or empty.

That is why I never travel with a full tank. With my prior class C I travelled at about 1/3 tank or about 15 gallons. This was always enough to take us through a day or two of travel until we got hooked up at a camp ground. I also like using the water from the fresh tank for the coffee pot and ice maker because I get the water analysis from the county once a year. Not sure what river camp ground water comes from.

Doubt it's baffled. I drive with only a few gallons. Don't want the extra weight.

For the record a 100 gallon water tank full is not close to 800 lbs, but over 800 lbs. 834 lbs to be exact. A lot of weight to haul around if not needed!

Water Tank

My Miramar 34.2 water tank is not baffled.

It will not fill up completely unless the coach is level.

THEN it pukes out 20 gallons (out the overflow) during our 90 mile ride to Gorman State Park!
