Has anyone seen the age demographics?

I was thinking about this this morning.

Has anyone ever see the age demographics for RV's broken down in classes?

Are the A class owers more like 60 years old and C class more like 50?

I have a feeling a lot of it has to do with the price of an RV.

So trailers might be around 30 avg, 5th 40, B's 30, C's 50?, A's 60?

What to you guy think?

I've seen quite a few 50-60 YO people in B's. I would bet B's probably have the largest age range.

Price and Purpose. I don't think there's anywhere near a standard for this. If I could have changed a few things about the A, I would have bought it instead of the Super C. Sold a 2 year old Open Range TT to buy the Super C. Only thing missing here is I didn't consider a B...too small for my purpose but nothing to do with age...I just don't like sitting in the sink with my feet in the toilet to take a shower.

Here you go, the demographics (from 2014) all broken down every which way:
https://scholarworks.gvsu.edu/cgi/vi...43&context=jti

Every which way except which RV they have LOL!

Edit, some more reports for your casual reading:
https://www.recpro.org/assets/Librar.../RVIA_SORP.pdf
https://data.sca.isr.umich.edu/fetchdoc.php?docid=25919
https://www.rvia.org/reports-trends

One of those should have what you're looking for LOL.

Yours gives you credit for being 8? I'm impressed! I usually score a 5 on the DW scale.

Not all B bathrooms are the same.

This floorplan is for a 2005 Forest River 22-ft Mercedes van. It has a dry bath the size of many “regular” RVs, and probably larger than on Axis/Vegas 24.1 Class A.

A great feature of Bs is that many are custom designed and built. You can have a very large bathroom as long as you’re willing to give up space elsewhere.

Regarding age, I agree with Jamie that Bs attract a wide range of buyers. However, I expect that owner age influences the bathroom size considerably. Young kids today living full time in vans often don’t even have showers in their vans (they reportedly shower in fitness centers, campgrounds, etc.). As we get older, a spacious private bathroom seems more important. It is to me anyway.

The MB's are nice...very nice. A Friend of mine (78 yo widow) in Vero Beach just bought a Winnebago Travato. I like the compactness of them but too many "convertible" features for me. She will mostly travel with her 1/2 pound dog by herself. Perfect setup and the shower is in the rear and can also be an outside shower if no one is looking. With me, the wife and two crazy 80# labs...bigger is a must. Plus I want to tow. I've been critiquing and reviewing RV's with her for a few months and this seemed best for her and her purpose.

Sounds like the 21-ft Travato 59K which is very similar to 22-ft Sprinter above, although Travato replaces narrow dinette with a second bed. I like the dinette, specially for a single person. Travato does allow access through rear doors, but by using a wet bath. That’s a tough compromise. Much comes down to limited space, which is why I’d like to see larger vans in US someday.

It's a 2019 BU259K, I think. Not my choice of floorplan but she loves it for herself and little tiny dog. Really cool design for what it is. Once we get the world travel tour under our belt over the next 2 years, I will probably sell the monster and go with something similar that will allow more jump and run excursions and better serve as a weekender.

Which gives me another thought...wouldn't it be cool to have a purchaser lined up...those people planning to buy in the next year or so...to purchase your motorhome on a given date. They could keep up with it's history and repairs, visit it occasionally and even go on a couple trips with you to get familiar? Anyone looking to buy a 2018 Chateau 35SF in 2021??

Don,
I think that you've hit upon a pretty neat idea!

And I hope that you find someone who is interested...

We looked seriously at that Travato unit with the spit twins. There just wasn't enough storage, inside and outside. For less money, we chose the Vegas 25.2. Few regrets on that decision after 3 years of traveling.

A salesman was gathering information from the boss about the business. One question asked, "How many employees do you have, broken down by sex?"

The boss replied, "We have 30 employees, but I have no idea how many are broken down by sex!"

I guess I went backwards. I’m 70 and we started with pop ups did a Class C then 3 travel trailers. When we moved to Colorado from California sold off the last TT. In 2015 we bought a gas Class A had it for 3 years and sold it this year and we bought a 5th wheel trailer last month. I enjoy towing this much more than the MH towing a toad.
