Console Cup Holders

I have an ACE 30.4. The center console cup holders are very shallow. Our drink cups keep tipping over when we hit a bump.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this issue?

If I recall someone in a past thread used some PVC fittings to make an extension. Maybe they will show up here and explain it.

I just built a four cup cupholder (of curse it is attached to a table)

I also like my drinks on my right when I drive, and I like the height of the new cupholders better

I remember the other mod removed the stock holder, drilled out the bottom with a hole saw and bonded on a 3" PVC cap, but that was on an armrest which had room underneath for the added depth. It really makes you wonder if the manufacturer ever tried to use one of those things for anything but a kids sippy cup...

Using the poorly designed stock holders, I added the following:

Gadjit Cup Keeper available on Amazon or Wal-Mart.

Locked in place using weather stripping foam around interior of stock holder. Solid and functional.

Thanks!

I lined the inside top of the cup holder with self-stick 1/2” weather seal foam tape.
It adds enough volume to keep standard cups from moving around.

Also, I installed several folding boat cup holders on the walls.
You can purchase for $5 at Walmart or Amazon (about same price)

I took a dremel tool and cut out the bottom of the ones on the engine cover. Now our big steel cups fit. The others I left alone as they are the right size for a can of beer.

Change your Cup to fit the holder.

I have found a cup that fits the cup holder. It is made by Contigo. It does not spill if tipped and will hold a cup of coffee hot for a long time. You can also use it to keep a cold drink.

I ended up placing a kozy around a water bottle and that made the bottle more secure in the cup holder

We placed a taller plastic cup in the holder that would accommodate our coffee cups

We did what half price did below. Bought cheap pvc 3” at Lowe’s, roughed it up with sandpaper them spray painted it black. They look great and drinks NEVER spill anymore.

We have a 38”THOR Challenger and there are no cup holders on the dinette table so I do wish we had a solution for that while we are on the road and the kids are sitting there.

Me too

I hear ya, we own a 30.1 . I just went and bought 2 fold down cup holders and mounted them on wall beside driver and passenger s seats. Speaking for me the holder s in the center are so low to the floor I can't reach em and drive!!

A 3" dia schedule 30 PVC coupling works perfectly to extend the cup holders to 6.5". It hold the 30 oz Yetti Rambler tumblers perfectly. The problem is most plumbing places only carry the schedule 40 couplings. I did paint them black with vinyl paint. A big plumbing place will have what you want. The new RecPro 12 oz mugs (a gift from RecPro) fit the Hurricane's cup holders fine without the PVC sleeve.

I found if you cut a Koozie about 2/3 of the way down from the top and put it on the drink glass it seems to work well. I have about 6 cut down Koozies in the RV, Use them all the time
