Use Or Store Switch

I have a 2015 Hurricane 32N.

I like to store it for 3 or 4 months in the winter with it connected to shore power.

Do I set the battery disconnect toggle switch to "use" or "store" position to let the converter keep the chassis batteries maintained?

If you're connecteded to shore power: set it to the "Use" position.

I assume that once in "use" position the converter will maintain the batteries and not overcharge over time (if working correctly)?

What is the "store" position for?

If you can't plug it in when stored.

The "Store" position (In theory); disconnects the batteries.
In practice: the parasitic losses will still drain the batteries.
I added bayonet style disconnectors to the ground lines to insure that they are isolated.

If you leave it plugged in you will still need to check the water level in your batteries.

Or do think I should use "store" mode and use a Battery Tender to maintain the Batteries?

I am concerned that the MH converter will not properly maintain a full charge and not over charge the batteries.

How do some of you guys keep your batteries up over a few months of storage?

Yep. Mine had been plugged in to a 50 amp pedestal any time I am home since it was new. So far so good. In hot climate continuous floating charge will case the batteries to vaporize some water. The older and more hours the batteries were discharged will cause the water consumption to increase.

The chance of a converter malfunction is probably no different than the chance of a battery tender malfunction...

Thank you, makes sense to me.

My 32N had it's original 12 volt batteries and being 5 years old and me being to lazy to check the water levels and fried the old dogs.

I switched to 6 volt yesterday and wanted to make sure I got it right.
