Dead foot rest

Has anyone sourced a good dead foot rest ? I keep reaching for a place for the left foot and would like something to rest against.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. But, I think I'll make mine out of wood. A friend has given me some old beams from houses he's torn down. That should be perfect. I think some of it is even cherry or walnut.
