Def

Just bought new 2020 requires this special fluid. I've done some research on it and it surprised me. The cooler the fluid is stored the better it is. Hmmm. I find it interesting as the tank is in the back close to the engine. I have not owned diesel engines using this fluid. I've owned them, under the compliance of using a PDF but cleaning was done by using it's own fuel.

Unless you're running lots of miles on a huge trek, don't keep the DEF tank full. It's reasonably stable fluid and the system is designed to manage itself. Don't attempt to stockpile DEF fluid. You can read lots of stuff on the internet about it. Make sure you buy it at high volume locations like truck stops or commercial auto parts stores (NAPA). I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

That's not enough information for anyone to be helpful to you.
I also don't understand your initial post. Was it a question?

I’m sure that it will be fine. Read your manual and see what the engineers recommend. Ram states not to fill it until it is low. This way it is as fresh as possible. 4 plus years so far and no issues doing it this way.

just add DEF to your DEF tank when your 'bars' show less than 1/2 a tank - no worries, you don't use that much fluid, even when traveling a lot, and W*mt and most any fuel stations have either gallon jugs or 2 1/2 gallon jugs.

I've carried some extra with us from time to time, if traveling really long distances, but the reality is that you don't' need it very often, and it's available almost anywhere - you have to fill up on diesel a LOT more often, anyway!
