Dinette Sliding Table

Just purchased a new Venetian 37M with the dinette table that can slide out from a 2 person setting to a 4 person setting. On our 300 mile trip home from the dealer the heavy table slid out and put a small dent in our sink cabinet. When I got home I looked under the table for a latch or something to keep the table in place when on the road but nothing. Anyone else have this issue?

Sorry to hear about the dent!
It might be worth calling your dealer, and seeing what they will do about it.
Adding a small latch under the table shouldn't be a tough thing to do.
But you always have to assume that if something can move: it's going to do it at the worst possible time.

On the Palazzo I had before, I had a similar dinette table. They had installed table latches, but they used to always break and the table would slide. The install was not aligned right. In my case, when the table slid it did not hurt anything because the couch was across from it. I ended up having to replace the latches, which was a tough install because of the location of the latches and trying to get them into the location where they were. This is what the latches looked like. Heavy Duty Push Latch - RV Designer H316 - Cabinet Hardware - Camping World

It could have been a double latch though, as you get old you forget about things in the past.

Very helpful, thanks. You would think there would have been some sort of a latch installed at the factory.

Have an M37. Just added some brackets underneath table and a tie down strap. Brackets must be attached to a secure point as they wood coverings on cabinet side are only attached with staples.
