You're right. 75lbs is for the tire only.

Called my local RV place.
They said, "nobody buys spare tire -- that's what roadside assistance is for".
I said, "does roadside assistance cover providing spare tire?"
They said, "umm..., I don't know".
Yeah, so that was that.

So I'm in ABQ, NM. I called and called and everyone says they should be able to help but so far only 1 place had the tire but not the wheel (rim).

One more reason I should have a spare.

Steel wheel is about $100 and 75 lbs.
Aluminum is about $320 and 43 lbs.

Now to find the right one with the correct bolt pattern and offset.

Are all F53 chassis wheels the same? What should I be looking for when it comes to wheels (rims)?
Do you have any links to something you might have used and liked?

75LBS that they list in product description certainly doesn't seem like enough weight.

Axis 25.2 Spare Wheel Mount

Hi Folks,
Just last week finally put SW mount on Axis 25.2.
Hope pics show OK.
Pull one pin, wheel mount folds back just enough to clear storage door and slide.
Pull 2nd pin, mount folds all the way down to get the spare wheel unmounted more easily.
Cut Curt mount and drilled for 1 pin.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards, James

TerryJames, that looks like it fills the ticket very well, but what if you want to trailer something?
Maybe if that were made with a ball accessible.

Good question ... We don't pull a trailer, but could go with "spare goes in the trailer / toad" ... light weight trailer can fit as well if the mount is straight up ... many ways to do things ... only reason we put it on is 'cos the 25.2 has no place to store a spare other than maybe underneath ... and I don't do that crawling underneath to mount / unmount that heavy spare any more.

At this point in my life I am not going to be jacking up a 30' MH and hoisting a 19.5" wheel and tire on and off the rig. That would prolly blow out the stents the cardio Doc went to all the trouble to carefully put in! If we pop a tire we will be sitting patiently waiting for a young man with the proper equipment to get us back on the road. We are retired, where do we have to be anyway? Signed not worried about a spare, Mark

Amen brother! I can wait in my air conditioned RV. Might take a nap or watch a movie until the studly fellow with the tow truck comes along.

Has anyone gotten a spare steel wheel tire combo at a reasonable price that they liked? It'll be installed underbody so looks are not important.
I need one for my ACE 32.1.
245/70R19.5G, with the 19.5x6.75 rim.

I picked up my spare from a junkyard ($100), but I have an E350 chassis, very common tire size, (ambulances, school buses for example). Doesn't hurt to call a junkyard and ask.

I have roadside assistance, but we have found that they are not always that dependable.
We have also encountered areas where cell phone reception is not available.

I guess if I always stay on the interstate and close to larger urban areas cell phone and roadside assistance is fine, but we do like to explore and get off the main roads sometimes.

I haven’t been able to come up with a tire/wheel combo for under $500. And there would be additional cost for mounting and balancing. I’ve not bought one yet due to the high cost. Going on a 6 week trip to the northwest next week with my 4 year old Goodyear’s. A bit of a gamble. One of these months, if I ever get a month to come in on budget I might spring for it.

I have a 2018 Vegas 25.2 and have a spare on a Roadmaster pivot carrier so that I can lay it down when I extend the rear slideout. Hopefully I won't get any more senile and forget. I got the spare because both my Camper King and Progressive insurances say they will pay for a tire change as long as I have a serviceable spare. I have been told that I would need two jacks to jack the whole side up to prevent tweaking the frame or cracking the windshield. If this is true, do I need to tell this to whoever comes out to change a tire or is it unnecessary to jack both axles?

Thought I’d share a wheel supplier for $59.90 including shipping (no connection)
https://www.wheelsandcaps.com/
Delivery takes about 10 days … I think they get the order before they do the re-conditioning. … looks OK … way better than "new OEM from Ford" price.
http://www.thorforums.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=31

Got a new
Michelin LT225/75R16 from
https://www.bestusedtires.com/
including shipping etc for $106.00

Shipped to Texas, then Discount tires fitted and balanced for $20.00

I second that supplier. I bought the same wheel for my class C and found an orphan tire at Discount Tire and had my spare done and done for $125. But that was a 16 inch very common wheel and tire. The 19.5 x 6.75 is a whole other thing. Best I’ve found is $259 plus $55 shipping for the wheel and $130 for an unfamiliarly named tire with another $50 for shipping. Argh!
