They were very open to building anything you wanted (within reason). With a slide or without a slide, we redesigned our unit by having them take out a table and two chairs and installing a fold out table and small recliner instead. In our third year (two years out of warrantee) the fabric on our chairs and couch started to crack and peal and we took it to the factory and they replaced all the fabric on three chairs and the couch for free, in one day. They really stand by their product. If they build a small Class A on a 450 chassis, we would buy one from them in a heart beat. We have loved the layout and room in our Vegas and Axis, but dealing with Thor had been very different than dealing with Phoenix Cruiser.
Too bad Thor is too large to also do custom projects. With a few "reasonable" modifications an Axis 24.1 could be just right for us.

Axis/Vegas Competition From Jayco?

On related topic: It appears Axis/Vegas "may" finally get some competition in compact (low profile) Class A built on E-Series. Maybe it will result in additional floorplans for Axis/Vegas clones. Or with any luck they will truly try to make them "low profile"; although I seriously doubt that will be the case.

Also on the drawing board is a small gas-powered Class A that will be built on either a commercial Ford E-350 chassis — typically used to build Class C’s — or an F-53 Super Duty Class A gas chassis.

If they decide on F-53 chassis, how low-profile can they actually make it?

Well considering that Thor has recently purchased Jayco:
Thor Industries, Inc. - Thor Announces Acquisition of Jayco for $576 Million

It stands to reason that they will simply introduce a few new brands to the Axis/Vegas lines.

So not really "competitor's" to Axis/Vegas per se.

I was going to post the same reply !!
With Jayco now a brand under the Thor umbrella, there may be some additions.
This subject has been beaten to death....'so many choices in an effort to meet all the needs, wants and desires' ... hoping that Thor, company wide, will take QC to the level everyone expects.
We STILL love our AXIS !!

I'm aware of connection, hence why I posted. Think of Thor CEO stating he has different brands "competing" with each other.

I agree they will likely limit new model to a different paint scheme and maybe different headlights, but the mention that it may still be on E-350 or F-53 chassis suggests Thor/Jayco are looking at a completely new motorhome still in the works.
