Escape window Thor Aria 3901

I had the rear bathroom escape window blow off while on I-95 and shatter. Thor wants $600 for window and $100 for shipping. My question is are there any sources to get the window for less ? Thanks

Why not check with your insurance Agent, and see if this is a covered loss?

Oh that sucks! I'm with Bob and would call the Ins Co. I'm wondering how that could happen? Could it have been left open? Or left unlatched? Regardless, that a bummer hope you get it covered by Ins.

At a total of $700 insurance is basically useless. Unless you have zero deductible. At $500 deductible it only saves $200 and tags you with a claim. Too many claims and there go the rates.

Since Scarecrow is in Florida... and I assume carries comprehensive insurance, Florida law mandates no deductible or fees for auto glass replacement if comprehensive coverage exists. One of the sunshine state benefits.

Those coverages will usually specify that it's for window glass.
They do that to keep from paying for busted zenon headlamps.
Is a door also a window? This might be open to some "creative interpretation".

I did call Thor again and talked to another person he was nicer and more helpful he said to get it to a dealer and Thor will try to get manufacture to replace I’d due to the adhesive that holds it on to handle failed. I’ll see how it goes Thanks

...but wouldn't this be a comprehensive claim? It's certainly not a collision situation. Our comprehensive USED to be zero. We upped it to $500 and NOW just filed a claim for two fenders taken out by a flying piece of retread on the highway.
Comprehensive claims don't usually mark your insurance record with rate increases.

Did not see anyone respond to your question which was: does anyone know motorhome window vendors that sell for less? I just checked the web and yes a plethora of them. Good luck!
