Has anyone modified the tube where the water drops from the coach’s A/C unit to the ground? It appears that it drops directly on the battery. I was considering adding a clear tube on to the existing one inch drain tube extending it to direct the water away from the battery.

Thanks in advance,

Tommy G.

Most of us just tilt the coach a little so than it runs of the left rear corner of the coach. Of course there is little humidity around these parts so most of the time moisture is welcome.

I dont think he is talking about the AC on top but the dash AC. Might be wrong but he says its dropping on the battery and that is where the dash AC is located.

On second reading I think you are correct.

I have never noticed where mine drips at but will try to take notice. I dont see any issues with using a tube to redirect.

On my ACE I ran a tube from the nipple below the evaporator housing down to the fender right in front of the tire and zip tied it to the fender support.

I did. I noticed the same thing and was a bit concerned. Best case, the water was dripping on the battery. Worst case, the water built up a bit in the tube and then dripped inside the cab on the feet of whomever was sitting in the passenger's seat.

I just pulled out that clear tube, took it to a hardware store to make sure i got the right kind of tubing, and then installed a longer one. Solved both problems with about $3 and five minutes worth of work.

Yes, I went to the hardware and a purchased a clear tube. Now I can see the water dripping out and missing the battery and going to the ground. Ford should have had a better idea but it wasn't their problem. If it was on a regular truck it wouldn't be a issue. Fore thought is lacking somewhere>

After reading this I looked and my A/C and it’s not dripping on the battery. I have the F53.

Yep I added a clear tube, I think 3/8", then zip tied it to some wires below the battery
