Firefly issues...if there's not enough already...

I've searched the forum and also tried reaching Firefly to no avail. I have a 2018 Chateau 35SF with the Firefly System. It's worked perfectly until now. I follow the same procedures I've followed since I bought this unit but this is the new issue I can't resolve. Once parked, engine off, emergency brake engaged, jacks down...all the normal stuff...I go to extend slides...the panel asks you to confirm all the protocol is in place by pressing the CONFIRM button on bottom of screen...all in place...so I press the "CONFIRM" button (required) and nothing happens. Every other feature on the main Firefly panel works except the "CONFIRM" button. Any ideas what do do next??

Have you killed all power to it?

Disconnect all power to your rig shore/ batteries and confirm FF is off.

Bring everything back online an see what happens.

Mine looses its mine once in a while!
Ac, heat and lights all come on!
Why we keep propane off.

Even after recall it acts up.

When in doubt, reboot out!

FF tech support blows!

Thanks for the suggestion...I'll try anything. How quickly we forget..."Control/ALT/Delete".

Was able to get a very nice lady with Firefly technical help on the phone...very difficult fix but we made it through...remove main panel from the wall, unplug it, wait 30 seconds and reconnect. All good. She said it also "re-syncs" all other features when you do this...including the "home base" for slide motors. Suggested I do this every few months just for the benefit.

I think I would add an external power switch to it for resetting. Pulling a panel every three months with a panel not designed to be removed all the time cannot be good for its fasteners over time. An old stile RV wall switch and plate can be gotten almost anywhere. All you are doing is disconnecting the connector with the power wire on it. If it is a DC powered, you can get a double pole double throw switch and disconnect the ground wire as well. Add a 10k ohm resistor and .1uF cap in series across the switch output terminals to de-bounce the switch contact arks. To ones that don't know, all switches bounce and ark when switched. The exception was mercury wetted contacts. Most were used in relays, but you could get them in sealed switches. Mercury was outlawed in all manufacturing including thermometers years ago.

The panel just snaps into place on the wall and is designed for that. I take the one by the door outside all the time...I can run awning, awning lights, interior lights, etc. with it. The plug on the back is an 8 contact pin type no different than a cell phone connection or the standard OBD plug under any dash. If it continues to give me trouble she said she would send out a new panel at no charge or authorize a dealer to replace the entire system. I'm pretty good with the resolution.

Did she say if this was any different than killing the power to the RV? My slide motors won’t synch and I’m wonder if this would fix it. I’ve tried killing to power to the RV but that didn’t do the trick.

Connectors do wear out. Reliable contacts become intermittent from once in a blue moon to an ever shorting amount of time. High rel equipment must have a record of how many insert and removals have been made. After X amount, all the contacts must be replaced. We made short connector cables and they were called connector savers. All mate and de-mating was done with the connector savers. Until final instillation at the next higher assembly.
