Fuel Reserve

How do I know what the "fuel reserve" is for my A29 Thor Freedom Traveler. I can't find anything in the specifications. Fuel capacity is 80 gal.

As told above.
Half tank.
To what end your question?
And
My reserve is more than 66 miles after the fuel light comes on.
A useless experiment on my part to test the 1/4tank generator claim.
My gen never quit running.

Do not tempt fate.
If you don't know the reserve you cannot be tempted to save 3 cents a gallon further down the road,

I am assuming from the question you are looking to see how far you can drive after the gauge shows Empty?
That's a terrible idea as several have already stated. Not to mention letting the tank get that low allows any impurities that settled to the bottom of the tank to be potentially picked up by the fuel pump and clog your fuel filter.

Our 80 gallon tank never gets too far below a half. As the Scuba said we like having plenty of go juice should we decide to run the genny overnight at a stop.

Define "fuel reserve". I haven't seen a reserve option on a car since my 1964 Triumph Herald. Most motorcycles have a reserve tank setting. MHs? Not so much.

I was asked this when joining an online RV travel planning site. I agree this was a strange question.

Here is my take. My Ford owners manual says that when the low fuel warning dings at 1/16 of a tank I have between 10 and 35 miles worth of fuel. I have an 80 gallon fuel tank. So the math says that 1/16 of a tank is 5 gallons. That means my coach gets between 2 to 7 MPG depending on throttle position. I have taken my tank that low on a trip home where I know all the fueling locations. The ding came on about 3 miles from the ranch. I stopped and fueled at the last station. For regular use, I fill up once a day on the road or when the fuel gauge hits half a tank.

Thank you for your explanation. I never thought of looking in my Ford manual. I was asked this question when joining an online RV travel planning site.

In that context - they are asking you how big your gas tank is.

So, 80 gallons.

The fuel reserve is how low you want your tank to be when the trip planner shows you where you should refuel. I set mine to 25% of a full tank and plan on fueling before that.

Thanks, that's what I decided to do. When I planned my trip it made sense. Shows when I should be refueling.

Much appreciated.
