Front wheel well liners

I just received a set of front wheel well liners for my Thor Compass Ford Transit. They should keep the vehicle much cleaner and cut down on road noise. They came with mounting Hardware and instructions. They cost just under $200 shipped on ebay. Part Number HK3Z 16F099-A

Any chance of a picture of those wheel well liners motorhd. Let us know the difficulty level to install. I don’t bend very well anymore. Next project for me will be vent covers over the vent fans.

The biggest part of the job will be jacking the front up and removing the wheel. After a thorough cleaning and drying well the actual installation should be pretty easy. I don't move to well myself. I let you know. This is discussed on the Ford Transit Forum.

Mud flaps

My 23TR has a short mud flap mounted in front of the rear passenger-side tires (nothing in front on the rear drivers-side). Doesn't look like it was longer unless it was cut off. So short by design I think. Both my rear mud flaps look properly anchored and not coming in contact with anything....
The front wheel wells look like they could use the wheel well liners too so will be watching for the "after" updates. Nancy

23TR Winterize

On the road now but I will need to winterize my 23TR for the 1st time very shortly --likely at my last stop before home. Since at home the nights are
-3 C /27 F. Here is what I think I need to do:

1) Dump gray and black tanks;
2) Empty fresh water tank
3) Open low point drain under microwave; Q: thinking I don’t need to isolate on-demand hot water?
4) Drain all lines –including outdoor shower; Q: wondering how if I could blow out lines using bicycle tire pump? I think this is done through the city water input opening.
5) Put RV antifreeze into sinks and toilet to get some into gray and black tanks.

I would like to avoid pumping RV antifreeze through the lines as that would require accessing the pump controls in that awkward compartment. Plus, I've read somewhere that doing that might not be necessary in "just below" freezing temperatures --particularly if the lines are blown free of water.

Any comments or advice from personal experience welcome. Nancy

You will need to access the pump area to drain the holding tank. If you open the valve just leave it open to let the water slouch around and drain while driving. As far as the WH I opened the valve and turned the switch off. The water heater has a heating cycle if the temp gets below 35 degrees or so. Even if the propane is turned off it goes through this cycle and will wear down the batteries. This is how I understand it anyway. Be sure to turn open all faucets to allow good drainage

Thats exactly the way mine looks. The dealer is the one that decided the right one was gone.
I took mine in for a couple very small repairs a week ago so will probably get it back in a month or two and I will let you know whats up on the flaps.

Took a picture...hard to see orientation but look for tires...short flap must be there to protect that ground and other wires.

Thanks for the picture. I should have checked under there myself. I am sure you are right about it being the way it was intended. Something I should have noticed when we purchased it. When I made this last appointment I ask the dealer why it was that short and they didn’t have an answer so I assumed it wore away from contacting the tire. It definitely has ware pattern on it.

Thanks for that motored.

Doesn't look like too much of a hassle. I wish Ford would have seen to install them at the factory. Price seems reasonable. I assume those directions came with the liners? I think I will add these to the future improvement list.

Mission completed

Just finished the wheel liner project and it went quite well. They took about an hour each side, . The provided Transit web site posting helped a lot. The only change was that I had to trim around the after market mud flaps that I previously installed.
Next project, some kind of nice looking running boards. any recommendations ?

inverter mounting 24TB

Hi All,

I haven't seen much on inverter mounting in a compass on here. I just finished mine but would like more input on the subject. The compass/gemini is really short on space. I wondered how it went for anybody else here

Long time reader here first post though

Regards
Kevin

Added an inverter to our Gemini, inverter mounted on forward wall of storage compartment behind entry door, control and display panel mounted on side of cabinet to the left of entry stairs, that the sink is mounted in. Works well,

HI Laco
I think the tx has more storage space than the tb. With that being said, I didnt want to loose any space in that compartment. Excellent location for you I bet
I ended up mounting mine under the couch I didnt loose much space where I put it

Also, How many watt? Do you have solar also?
Thanks for your input

Kevin

I put an 1800 watt Xantrex, which serves our needs. Its mounted high on that wall, so it really impacts storage space very little. I do not have solar, we rarely if ever dry camp, and I store inside plugged into shore power.
