propane generator maintenance
we've had our 23TR since July 2017, about 4000 miles on the truck. I only used the generator a handful of times - not sure the hours.
Is there any schedule maintenance for the generator that I should perform?

Hi,
Was told it would not be a bad idea to fire it up , and run it a few hours every couple weeks.
- it familiarize's u to operating system
- gives u a chance to perform preventive maintenance
- it was made to run
Also there should be a hours gage next to your on/off switch.

I have been testing with the chip express piggy back, but it doesn't see to really be doing much.
I was going to upgrade to some Alcoa aluminum wheels next, its a little better for the un sprung weight, but unfortunately it won't help much with climbing up steep grades

If you can find an old MB, or a CJ-2A you can add disconnect hubs at all four corners. It'll follow you to the ends of the Earth!

Keurig in the Compass
So this may be a weird question...but I'm a coffee person. In my new Compass 23TB (that I will pick up in about two weeks) I would like to use a Keurig Mini when connected to shore power or on generator. I have a single serve K-cup press that I will use when boondocking with a stovetop kettle (induction). Anyone see any issues with using a Keurig machine while on shore or generator? I am mildly concerned about blowing a breaker as initial heatup of a Keurig will use somewhere around 1300 watts in initial heatup...

I use a single cup keurig style maker and have not had any trouble. When brewing the generator will come up in rpm until it’s done brewing on shoreline no issues.

It can be done... Here's a video with proof:
He mentions that this Keurig model only uses 700 watts, so I'm guessing that you might have some shopping to do...

Thanks...my only concern is i don't have an inverter... will it still work? Or is the inverter just so that it can be used with power from the diesel engine? I'm a total noob when it comes to electrical..learning..but not fast LOL

Awesome... are you using an inverter or just plugging in to a normal outlet and running on generator or shore power?

If you've got generator or shore power: they'll provide the AC power for your rig...

I have a Freedom Elite, 24FE. We’ve had her 4 months and put over 5,000 miles on her. I wasn’t happy with the stabilizers, so I replaced with the Bigfoot hydraulic leveling system. A world of difference

New owner of 2017 Gemini TR
Just took our maiden voyage in our new 2017 Gemini TR. Had multiple issues that seem to be in most of the posts that I have read. However, our most pressing problem is not being able to fully dump the black tank. Does anyone have a solution for this? Mary

Mary,
The tank level sensors are probably giving a false reading. If you can open the black tank valve the tank will drain.

Hugh, I thought that too. Then opened the black tank in a neighbor’s field after our trip and a whole lot came out. The problem is that when I put the sewer hose on, the first foot of the hose goes up and I can’t figure out any other way to drain straight down. I didnt have that problem when emptying the 2 grey tanks.

Oh, you have to remove the hatch cover and rotate the discharge down about 45 degrees. It might be a little tight but it will rotate. Not my favorite feature of the Compass/Gemini motor homes.

So, Hugh, the pipe moves downward and then I put the hose through the hole after removing the cover?

What did you neighbor have to say about all of this?
You might have to mow that field for him; for a couple of years....
