Gen Operator Panel problem

2015 Siesta Sprinter with the diesel generator. The red button on the panel will not click down in the on position. Need to pin it down with a toothpick in order to run the gen. Does anyone know a fix for this short of replacing the board? I can find the part but its around $700. I can buy a lot of toothpicks for that.

What Ducks says or another 'fix' is to install a small plastic or metal tab under that screw shown and swing it over to hold the switch down when needed.

My mind went to the fix it guy on Andy Griffith...rubber mallet when all else failed! Probably not a good "fix" in this case! Probably best to find someone, other than I, with real fix it skills!
