It's an air cooled engine so either air flow is blocked (mouse nest) or air is not flowing where it is supposed to (generator door not installed correctly, air directors bent or missing).

I had a similar problem on my 1996 Allegro. When driving in the mountains, Colorado in the summer, the generator would just quit and refuse to restart. The model generator did not have a cover like more modern units. the generator was also located just behind the Drivers side front wheel and in the air wash of the heat coming from the main engine radiator and exhaust system heat. The door latches allowed me to latch the generator compartment door open and that helped the problem if I remembered to open it before starting uphill. That is a little unacceptable so, I cut a hole in the generator compartment door and added an aftermarket electric fan that I could turn on form the driver's seat. That helped a lot but did not completely solve the issue, the true problem was that Tiffin / Allegro did not do enough to shield the generator form the engine and exhaust heat.

Did you ever get it sorted out? We always take ours to Frieghtliner or Cummins for anything generator or motor. Should be warranty

Adding the Vent and fan blowing on the carburetor solved 99% of the problem, it would sill do it once and a while. All this happened well after the warranty expired. So I called "good enough"
