Going from 30 amp to 50 amp
A general question about going from the 30 amp Hurricane up to a 50 amp: Do I need any extra equipment to plug it in at home? We have a 30 amp converter cable to connect it to household electricity.

If I understand your question fully, 30 and 50 Amp cable ends are different, so you'd need an adaptor to mate these. It sounds like you already have means (adaptor) to connect 30-Amp cable to house. Is that on 15- or 20-Amp receptacle?
If so I'd look at a 30-50 RV adaptor so you can also use it at campgrounds that may not have 50-Amp service.
Not sure what you mean by household electricity. My house has a 50-Amp in garage I installed to power a welder. With the right adaptor it could also power a large RV.

In most Class A MH's that have 50 amp service you can use a
30 amp service other than running the AC.
So by adding an adapter you can plug your 50 amp cable into a
30 amp service.

50AMP is a 220/240 VAC and 30AMP is 115/120 VAC.
That stated if you have upgraded your MH then a 50 to 30 adapter will only provide 30AMPs to one half of the circuits in the MH.
30 to 50 adapters are usually used for MH's that arrive at parks with only 50AMP receptacles.

Chance - usually a welder receptacle is 3 wire 240 volt, not suitable for an RV. RV 50 amp is 4 wire with both neutral and ground. 2- 50 amp 120 volt hot legs. (240 between the "hots" (30 amp RV is 3 wire 120 volt) I don't believe there is an adapter to use welder receptacle to power an RV..
RV Wiring
Dutchman28- A 30 to 50 amp adapter has an internal jumper and powers both legs of a 50 amp service but still only provides 30 amps. power has to be monitored to avoid overload.

I have a 2015 Axis 24.1. I am buying a new 2022 Ford F150 hybrid with the 7.2kW generator. The receptacles on the truck are four 120V 20A outlets and one 240V NEMA L14-30R. Would I be able to run the AC on 20 amp circuit (nothing else running)? Could the coach be connected to the 240V if wired correctly? Thanks

Newer welder outlets are the very same as RV or EV receptacles
A 50 am RV is 240v with 2 120v circuits

I have had 50 amp RV's for many years and many 30 prior
Your 50 amp dog bone to 30 amp simply uses one leg of the 240v outlet
If you have ever checked a 50 amp pedestal with a VOM then you know it is 240 volts
Most 50 amp RV's only have 2 120v circuits, however the higher end have 240v dryers and cook tops and other appliances as needed
Lots of on going confusion about RV wiring for the past 50 years ever since we started seeing the 30 amp and then when 50 came along it really got interesting

Yes
Yes, but you don't need to do any rewiring, just get the standard generator to RV 30A adapter:

You were #4???
Just pointing out the futility of trying to correct a poster from so long ago and who hasn't even been on the forum in the same amount of time.

The guys at Fast Lane Truck plugged two 30-Amp RVs into a Ford F-150’s 7,200-Watt inverter. Video may be of interest. You shouldn’t be limited to 20 Amps, but expect truck to run continuously if drawing significant power. The F-150’s hybrid battery is relatively small (low capacity).

Do you have to ask?
But by Chance; that F-150 video was pretty cool though. Although not sure how the F-150 knew the loads from each of the trailers since they were connected to the Truck via a splitter dog bone with two 30 amps connections?

Why speculate when it has already been done?
To your question, as far as I know, the F-150’s inverter is rated 30 Amps X 240 Volts (hence 7,200 Watts), with two 120 Volt legs out of phase that can provide 240 Volts.
It’s similar to an RV 50 Amp service but limited to 30 Amps per leg instead of 50A. It does not mean each leg has to pull the same amount of current. When you plug an RV to each leg, they draw whatever current they need up to the maximum limited by breaker. One RV is connected to L1 and the other to L2.
Yeah, that F-150 inverter is amazing in that it can provide more power than the typical 5,500-Watt Onan generator installed in many 50-Amp motorhomes.

I actually follow this Thanks for dumbing it down for me. Between you and The ACE; I venture into things that I would never go before. But to show I was paying attention what about....
Can the rating really be at 240vac; or is it to be @ 220vac to be compared with the 50 amp 5500 generator? Regardless I see why you say MORE power but thinking 6600 vs 5500?
Also; what type of battery(s) and alternator(s) are in that F-150? It is $900 upgrade, what did they add?
I would love to be able to do that for my Home Transfer Switch in an emergency versus connecting to my 3500 watt portable generator. The biggest portable inverter I have is 1500 watts 3000 watts peak; but if I had adaptor that had standard 110v plug outlet to plug inside inverter with a standard female generator 30amp receptacle on the other end, I could park car outside garage, and connect to my transfer switch and supply the house My Home Switch is a Connecticut Electric and it supplies 7500 watts at 30 amps of load to the circuits I have wired (not the entire house).

110/220 volts is the old standard. 120/240 VAC is the current standard.
