Talking Got the call today

Well we got the call from the Dealership RVOne.com in Albany, NY that our 2018 Thor Axis 24.1 has arrived. It's finally here...was ordered on 9/29/18, came off the line on 10/11/17 so it did take a bit longer than we hoped for but that goes without saying. Our experience with RVOne was excellent and our Salesman Tom Collins was easy to work with and very helpful so I'd say he was fantastic.
Everything went smooth and now we will finish up the rest of the legal stuff, the walkthrough the test drive and the demo and show me stuff.
Now it's going to be fun time but also a bit unsure of time but I guess that happens to everyone.
I have driven a few RV MH a number of years ago but this is the first on in many years so I'll need all the luck I can muster.
If anyone has any pointers let me know as I will need the advice you folks have.
If the unit came a bit sooner it would be taking us down to FLAUSA to feed that Disney Rat but as of now the tickets and air fare have been paid and it's off we go in a few weeks. < K9piper in the frosty Hudson Valley of NYS >

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new coach!

You first step should be accessing Ed Felker's excellent crowd sourced manual for Axis and Vegas. Here's the link: https://1drv.ms/w/s!AiYx6DLSeiiP6UNyy_VYGDO0BW6L Page 26 has a Pre Delivery Inspection worksheet. Priceless! (Take a video, you'll forget things!)

Can you give us an idea of the savings you got by purchasing from RV One? They have advertised direct from factory savings for years. They are in Albany, Buffalo, Des Moines, Orlando and Tampa.

Here's to countless happy times with your new coach!

Will you have a way to communicate with your "Chase Vehicle"?
(I'm guessing that someone had to drive you up there...)
When I brought ours home: it was comforting to have the Missus behind me... critiquing my every move!
She actually DID help spot me through a tight construction zone, and she monitored my speeds...
(I NEVER took my eyeballs off the road!)

told our adult sons ya don't want to dog sit Hans for a few days well your mom and I are spending what we were going to leave the both of you when we check out of here!! With that when we told them they said we can use it right I said hell no...ha!
As for the pick up of the RUV my son will take us up and she will follow us back at my request. Usually she is beside me but her back seat driving will not happen until we get back to Orange county. If she was behind my on the thruway I'd drive off a cliff to get her to stop ( only kidding ) she will be next to me lacking at everything I do that she feels is wrong. I have always said that God created a work of art and then he scored up by putting a mouth in it! My son will drive the chase car and guide me through any tight spots. I just went out tonight and ordered 2 walkie Talkie's off of Brads Deals for $21.99 ( set) 21 channels and a 16 mile range for that sort of thing! < Mike<

Have them show you how the sewer dump pivots downward through the opening in the compartment....seems like this is ignored every time.

Congratulations!!! Also make sure dealer shows you where the low point drains and water heater bypass is, that gets missed too. Best wishes and have FUN!

P.S. I’m married to a redhead so don’t feel the least bit sorry for you!!! LOL

Ours tried like the dickens; to get us to allow him to take it to Orlando next Month...
He got the same answer that yours did!

Got the call

The only thing that I got out of telling my 2 adult sons is to forgidaboudid. I was being told Dad...mom said you will pick up the limo trip to and from JFK to Disney World and back home, a few meals in the parks, the air fair and a few other things like the get together to celebrate the kids anniversary as well as you and mom's...who said all of that...mom did...oh my!
It's good to be the dad...now where in the hell is that cliff!! Ha!
I don't even have a job I told them you guys do...whats that all about...oh forgidaboudid!
So now folks go ahead and ask me ...How's life going?
I'll say back to you...Christ... taking forever!!

Saw a guy in the park one day having trouble parking a very nice and high dollar 5th wheel with a high dollar Chevy dually. Went over and helped him get parked, went back to watching tv, shortly heard a huge crash! Guy had released his hitch and pulled forward without putting jacks down first!!! Crushed the tailgate and bent both side rails of truck bed. After helping driver get trailer up off the bed I happened to walk around on the right side of the trailer, HUGE gouge along 3/4 the length, he had taken a corner to sharp and got a stop sign. Driver then told me he had borrowed the rig from father-in-law, oops!!! Would not have wanted to be him when he took it back since inlaw had only used it ONCE!!!

Good argument for not letting anyone borrow your coach! Kinda felt sorry for the guy, offered to buy him a ticket to non extradition country.

I had a specific procedure I went through for hitching and unhitching our 5er so that would never happen.

Of course, things do happen...managed to back the pickup into the 5er once. The only thing really messed up was the tailgate. The shop that fixed it just took our old tailgate and painted a new one (I drove the truck around a few weeks without a tailgate).
