A Banging Noise from Overhead

I have a 2014 Challenger 37GT. I bought it new and it has served us well. It has now developed the most annoying noise. It seems to be coming from the top right front of the home (passenger side) above the cabinets. It sounds like an object is hanging loose. The noise is two things. First, it sounds like the object (if it is an object) picks up road vibration and makes a soft clattering noise. When you hit a bump just right or make a sharp turn or even stop suddenly, a load bang is heard like the object swung back and then hit something. I have checked items on the roof and the awning. I have used a scope to look above the cabinets through the access hole for all the video cable and can not find out what this is. Any suggestions? The noise is a pain driving since it is sporadic. There is no way to get used to it.

Put felt pads on ends of electric shade where ends touch plastic colum. Bet cup of coffee that will fix it.

Oh man, I forgot to bring grandma in, she was sun bathing naked on the roof. LOL.

Nope. Checked that out. It is a small rubber coated antenna.

I will still buy you a cup of coffee but the noise is still there even when the track has been removed and the shades held by a hand.

we've found that the in-slide gear column can make a banging sound while driving... it's the swintech electric motor/gear/track system column that runs from top to bottom... and it's within the wall, unseen, so you won't ever be able to 'do' anything about it... : /

I put a slide lock on my small slide. It helps some but if road rough I still get some slide noise. Its seems like it takes a few miles for the slide to settle in the its quieter.

Do you have trim over the wheel(s)?

We have a 2017 Vegas and when we heard that rattle/clacking noise in the "A" column, we looked everywhere - for days! Then the noise stopped. It wasn't too long after that we noticed the trim over front driver's wheel was no longer there.

When i called Thor to ask for a new one, the customer service person said something about 'when it ripped off' . . . his words, not mine but yes, I think it did rip off.

I sent before and after pictures and he (reluctantly) sent us a new one. At first he wanted us to go to the dealer but we convinced him we could to the install ourselves. We did and it is still there.

Good luck finding the source of the noise. I know it can be worrisome and annoying.
