House Battery for FW 22E

My 2015 Four Winds 22E has one house battery, which seems to be enough, however it will only charge to 1/2 (at least according to the control panel which shows 2 lights). Has any one installed a second battery in series and does that extend the life? Will that be too much voltage?

Thanks from a newbie.

If the battery won't hold a charge it should be replaced. Adding a new one to that will just ruin the new one.

What Jamie said. Buy 2 new batteries, run them parallel, and put the worry behind you.

If its the battery that cane with MH, it is probably junk. I replaced mine with Interstate and have had no problems and decided not to add an extra battery at this time.

What the others have said about replacing - and installing one or two NEW batteries...

Wiring a second 12v battery in SERIES will give you over 24v - and likely fry some electronics along the way.

You can wire two 6 volt batteries in series (resulting in combined voltage of 12v) or wire two 12 volt batteries in parallel (resulting in combined amperage of two batteries staying at 12v) - or four 5 volt batteries in a series/parallel config (each pair in series - and then parallel together...)

I just called Thor to get info for my 2021 22E house battery.
-Made by Battery Systems Inc.
-12V Group 27 DP27 155RC
I think "DP" stands for Dual Purpose. Not sure what "RC" means.
Google didn't come up with any exact matches. The below link is the closest thing I found on Battery Systems website.
https://www.batterysystems.net/cente...intenance-free
The rated capacity is 80Ah, only 50% of that is usable before you start to degrade the battery innards.
