What the others have said about replacing - and installing one or two NEW batteries...
Wiring a second 12v battery in SERIES will give you over 24v - and likely fry some electronics along the way.
You can wire two 6 volt batteries in series (resulting in combined voltage of 12v) or wire two 12 volt batteries in parallel (resulting in combined amperage of two batteries staying at 12v) - or four 5 volt batteries in a series/parallel config (each pair in series - and then parallel together...)
