THOR ACE 30.3
anyone idea what theses could be for. So far we had 3 of them drop down on us while driving and we dont see any missing screws anywhere...
P.S. if I dont reply assume we got crushed by the bed over the driver and passenger seat :-)

Don't know about those particular screws, but we have found enough loose screws all over the coach to open a hardware store.
We have just figured that when a screw gets dropped, it is easier to leave it and grab another instead of trying to find the one (or two or three) you dropped...
Just our theory...

What Mike said: Every time I inspect some area that I haven't looked (and some that I'm in frequently) I find more screws, staples, sawdust, etc. and our unit is 3 years old now!

Yep - the DW finds 'em and she says here is another - screw loose. Never sure what she means but darn if I'm gonna ask.

If you keep looking you might find the screwdriver to go with the screws. I did in the false bottom of a bedroom overhead cabinet.

Those just look like short phillips self taping screws, which is a little strange because the RV industry is big on using square drive.
I'm guessing they were just laying up there somewhere. Anything missing around where shades are mounted?

On my 5er the 1st time I took the basement wall down (had to reattach heater duct, another story) I almost filled a 1lb coffee can with screws, small pieces of wire, wood cut outs, & not to mention all that I sucked up in the shop vac.

Ditto everyone else not even had ours a month and every time I go behind a drawer or under bench or wherever, one thing I can guarantee is I will find loose screws.

Yup
I keep finding new screws and have one coming up through my floor. They've screwed it down once and fixed the flooring and it came back up. Due to bring it it again and see if they can get it right this time.

Our new 2017 Thor is the biggest piecr of junk. More issues then you can emagin. Be lucky its just screws. We have found over 3 screws that just appear. Let alone it flooded 3 times. Auto levelers stopped working 1st trip, heat quit, slider leaked . To maby issues to list

Yes.. and this is our 2nd THOR, the one before had some issue the biggest being them wiring the chassis to the RV incorrectly and some "sloppy" workmanship but after that it was fine.
This one has more moving parts so more points of failure for unskilled workers ( which is what THOR customer service told me )

I have a 2016 Four Winds and have experienced the same issues. Lots of debris in covered spaces. What ever happened to pride in workmanship? I am sure that Thor is not the only manufacturer with sloppy work.

These are drawer glide screws. That is about the only place Thor uses the flush Phillips wood screws. So far I have only found one loose screw (by the water pump) and nothing else in 15,000 miles. The guys and gals in plant 750 did a great job assembling my coach.
