Ignition & Slide Lock-Out...Overide??

Anyone know a simple disconnect for this forced issue? Slides do not operate if ignition is on or engine running. I like to run engine when setting up, discharging jacks, etc. Engine must be on and emergency brake engaged for jacks to work...I'm OK with this but wish slides would operate whenever I want them to...like breaking down camp while warming up the engine. This is generally the last thing we do and having to shut engine off is a pain in the kiester.

mine are the same, it's a safety issue so that you don't drive away while the slide are deployed, simple. we might not 'like' it, but there are ways around it, as I've driven with my slides deployed myself, and if careful, it's not really an issue - such as when I've already deployed them but find that I really need to move several feet, or even somewhere else in the 'parking lot' where we are for the night.

agreed, though, as I sometimes forget and crank the engine before retracting the slide... oh well!

It sounds like you don't like to depend on the batteries alone to extract your slides, but they are well designed for that, no worries.

some coaches are right the opposite, go figure.

I agree...
It keeps someone from ending up on "America's Funniest Home Videos"!

But I DO sympathize!

Normally my unit is plugged in to 120V at the house 24/7. Sometimes, I will move it over for a day or two while loading and get ready, and it's unplugged (as is now for Friday's trip). The batteries will keep the fridge going for two days plus. But...with the horror stories of slide motors burning up because of low batteries, it would be nice to just crank the truck. Anyone know where and how the override is wired? I would never move or reposition with slides out. Too scared after the 2013 horror stories of Thor slides. It's the only reason we didn't buy the Palazzo then. I think the new 3-Trak system is great but don't want to test it. Operating slides will draw your butt up tighter than anything else out here.

I've heard it described as being, "Tighter than a gnat's... butt: stretched over a bushel basket"!
