JRV215 ghost?

Recently my dealer replaced the Jensen JRV212 with the JRV215 in my coach. The 215 seems work ok except for one issue. While the coach is sitting in driveway with no activity inside, the 215 will just turn itself on. When it does this, it comes on with volume at its max. This happens about once a week. I can go in and turn volume down and turn off system but a few days later it comes back on full volume again. Anybody had this happen before?

Sounds like another replacement on its way only this time tell them not a Jensen. Our last 5er had a Jensen & it would come on with volume at max at 2am, that'll wake you up, had to unplug it every night, the dealer sent us a different brand & no more 2am wake up calls.

Lol. I imagine that would be a wake up alright. I am thinking it will be stereo number 4 going in. I was really hoping that advancing to to their 215 model would solve all the stereo issues but all it did is start different ones.

Perhaps there is a loose wire somewhere that is cutting power briefly and then restoring it?
I say this because my 215 wants to turn on every time I switch to Use (I have mine wired up so that it is completely off when in Store). Even if I've turned the 215 off, when I go from Use->Store->Use it still turns back on.

Ya , I should check the wiring. The dealer installed it but, I have not been impressed with their workmanship on anything they have done yet. Seems strange it is full volume when it comes on tho

The Jensen 215 has weather alarms. Is it possible one got trigger by a watch or warning?

I forgot all about that!

When I took out my rig one of the first times in the High Sierras I had been awoken at 2:00 a.m. to a screeching NOAA alert, when obviously my radio was turned off at that time of day.

After two more "flash flood warnings" during the next two days about 150 miles from my location I disabled that "feature" and I sleep much better now.

I wonder if the 215 has a built in alarm clock feature. It may default to on and loud everytime power is restored.

Sounds like you need a priest to throw wholly water on the radio.

I went out and looked and the weather alarms were turned on. I disabled the alarm, will see if that does the trick.

I couldn't find an alarm clock setting. Not going to say there isn't one, I just couldn't find the setting for it. I didn't get an owners manual with the unit. Dealer said there was none in the box when they got it from Thor. I'll have to look online for manual

Here is a link to both manuals for the 215 (The Navigation manual, and the owner's manual):

I noticed that my 215 when off really wasn't off, I think, it was draining the battery so I turned it on and off, it seemed like it was still on, screen was off. So I pushe the button in and held it in for a few seconds, it now se ms to be really off. Anyway shall find out soon enough.

I think this was the reason. It hasn't came on since I turned off the weather alarm. Thanks so much
