You sure it was in Wakarusa and not Howe?

So how does Thor's "professional business practices" come into play when it was your dealer that sold you a damaged/repaired MH without disclosing it and then was unable to resolve your warranty issues to your satisfaction?

I was under the impression the repair shop with Thor written on the building wakarusa was a THOR run business. Are they now a dealership?

I believe you have two issues here. One is the warranty issue which belongs to Thor. The second is the non-disclosure of damage issue which belongs to the dealer. Once that coach is on the dealer's lot the dealer owns it. Thor simply covers the manufacturer's warranty. If the dealer did not disclose known damage then the state laws for disclosure would come into play.

Again, just a belief and I am not a lawyer, sh*thouse or otherwise.

Did you buy it at that location?

No, Thor is not a dealership and they do not sell direct to consumers. In fact you cannot buy parts from them. I don't think they have a Factory Pickup (FPU) program where you buy from the dealer and pickup at the factory. I haven't heard of anyone using a FPU with Thor like I have with Newmar and some other brands.

The building in Wakarusa is the "Factory Service Center".

Not on a bet. I just know how they operate after owning one for a number of years.

If you do a search for lemon laws on the forum you will probably get more info than you want to read. This isn't the first thread dealing with the issue and it sure won't be the last.

On thing I believe is consistent across all those threads is the person with the gripe or issue has never returned to provide the forum with the resolution. Although I could be wrong, I believe lemon law filers are batting 0 at this time.

Hopefully the OPs lawsuit will improve Thor's quality, but I doubt it. There are just too many people willing to pay good money for their inferior motorhomes.

I have said this before:

Until such time as there is a published quality standard for the production of Recreational Vehicles the idea of poor quality is just one's opinion.

We as RV consumers have no organization or body that lobbies congress on our behalf. That is what the RVIA does for the RV Manufacturers, Dealers and Campgrounds. The RVIA actively lobbies against any regulation that would benefit us if it would increase the operating or overhead costs of the industry.

When folks say lousy quality ask them what quality standard (publication, page, paragraph) was not met.

All of this combined is one reason why most state lemon laws only cover the chassis and not the house. There is nobody to lobby on our behalf.

It's a kit.
The lowest line kit available.

You get a loaner microwave until you decide whether or not you want that advantium, the advantium NONE of you paid for and won't pay for and would complain about a $2,000 microwave being a base stock item.

There isn't an option in the world unavailable to you when you buy your kit new or anytime thereafter.

We go through this endlessly.
We bought the cheapest rv available. I don't care how you saved, if you invoke ww2 vets and the founding fathers like one of the lemoners did, or if it's but a week's wages for you to buy a Thor.

You bought it, you carry the weight of that fact.
Good faith be damned. You knew or you didn't, and the onus is on you.
There isn't a person in the whole wild world who will tell you of the grand and fine lineage of axis.
You bought an entry level(or lesser) common, on the lot rv thinking it the Taj Mahal, and you the Raj.

The truth is you're one of dozens that week and maybe the one with the worst attitude.

Reality welcomes you, sometimes harshly.

I'll sell you any axis with a
8 year bumper to by bumper warranty.
$750,000
If you want the relief, pay for the relief.
Otherwise recognize what you did and be realistic about WHY you did it.

And
As usual

The attitude used when addressing the dealer and Thor shines through in posts like a lighthouse on a clear night.

I doubt there is person reading these that doesn't realize the Thor lemoners are 75% to 90% of their own problem.

I'm not a fanboy. I know EXACTLY what I purchased. If Marathon made a 24.1 I'd have bought it and STILL made upgrades. They don't, so I'm using my Thor KIT to build a marathon quality coach. I'm really glad Thor threw in a bed until I get the mattress I want.

Punchline :
I'm going to suggest a new no-entitlement attitude.
You're not converting or impressing anyone with lawsuit threats and complaints of sawdust and misaligned magnets.

You hurt only yourself.

What was your outcome? We purchased a new Thor sanctuary last year and it’s been in the shop at lease half the time. I think it’s a lemon. We are in California

This explains states/federal lemon laws. Lemon Laws by states. Good Luck!

I purchased a entry level gently used Thor diesel pusher. No the CA lemon law does not cover anything over 10klbs. So why purchase new?

Articles like the one linked that try to collate the laws in all 50 states are rarely accurate. They may be a good place to start but if you look at this article in particular, it is not dated, has grammar issues, and the linked source can not be found.

Do your own research about the particular lemon laws in your state.

Even though there is no lemon law for the RV, I don't understand why RV Manufacturers don't pay attention to quality. It costs money to do warranty work that should be easily quality checked during production. To me, warranty work reimbursement is money wasted, and profit lost. As a executive in my career, I save money by sumarizing customer complaints and establish better SOPs to reduce unnecessary most complained warranty cost. Better customer satisfaction, better reputation, less warranty expenses, more profit. It seems to me the executives abandoned their responsibility, sit in their comfortable corner office, and don't care about or unable to make the customers and their investers happy.

As long as Thor Industries makes a profit, which they do, quality will not be a thing for them. Could they make a higher profit with better quality, sure they could. But the bottom line is all that matters to the parent company.
