Lowering Antenna

My Vegas 24.1 has a short antenna that is lower in height than the AC. Is this still able to lay flat on the roof? Can't figure out how to do this?

If you have a King Jack antenna that looks like the one below, I don't think it raises and lowers; just rotates to pick up signal.

The stock antenna is a Wingate and it looks like this.

Yes, I would guess that most of the Vegas-Axis come with the batwing as stock. It is usually obvious for raising or lowering with the crank, so I offered a pic of the non lifting rotating head that may help.
As a side note, I came into a King Jack head conversion and replaced the stock batwing with it. Below is a pic of the conversion that does lift with the Jack head. Works good with a few more channels being picked up vs the batwing. But, I had a Rayzar conversion on my other coach and all things being equal, I would rather have it as it picks up from both sides and requires half the tuning.

Andy,

Are you referring to the television antenna or the stock black whip style antenna for the radio? The radio antenna generally does not lay flat.

It is a King Jack. So it stays upright?

OK the King Jack doesn't extend and retract. I wonder how that got installed versus the Wingard on virtually every other Axis/Vegas. What year is yours -- 2016? Maybe Thor changed it beginning with the 2016 model year. Although the pixs on the Axis & Vegas webpage does not show anything that looks like the King Jack.

Lower Wingate antenna

I can't figure out how to lower mine, either. I can turn it, but where do I lower it?

Thanks

Sharon

Our 2016 Axis 24.1 came with the 'new' antenna, which is stationary .. you only rotate to locate stations. This antenna is such an improvement over the older models...antenna reception is significantly better than previous type.
And...sure beats trying to remember to lower that thing..no more ribbons or clothespins as a reminder that it is in the up position...you need, only to knock one of those things off the roof of your motorhome once, to appreciate the new type.
