Mold or mildew on seals between walls and roof

The rubber (I think) seal that combines the edges of the siding and the roof of my Four Winds has two channels. Those channels have mildew or mold (black stuff) in them. What is the safest cleaning liquid to use to clean them that will not degrade the material? Also, is there a protectant that can be applied to prevent more buildup?

I thought about bleach to clean them, but not sure it wouldn't damage them.
