New 2023 Venetian B42 Owner Here w/ Question

Hey,

Should pick up the new rig this weekend. Coming out of an Entegra Accolade and thought I would try a Class A. Like Entegera heard tons of good, bad, ugly and great about dealerships and brand etc. Looking forward to being part of the community.

Question - Looking at RV Snap Pads for the Venetian. It looks like the 2023 uses a Lippart LPI controller. I was asked if the footings were the same as the prior years (12" in rear and 9" in front). Does anyone know for sure? Id love to get these on order before I pick up the rig.

My Tuscany is a bit heavier and i have no issues sinking the jacks into most gravel sites

So i carry 4 2x12x36 treated boards

Not as simple as pads but they work keeping the coach level

I use the above along with snap pads. Snap pads will sink into the ground.

100% agree!! these in addition to snap pads are awesome. Out here in the Pacific NorthWet we do find some softer ground. We usually just use the Snap Pad with gravel and roots and such. When very soft we will use the disks.

Enjoy the Venetian Coach, they are very well appointed and equipped and of course great looking as well.

Thor Venetian

I own a 2016 Venetian M37.

Sorry I can’t answer your specific question. However will make a few comments.

I carry several 2 x 12 x 24 boards with attached hook and cord for easy removal. I have never had any issues with gravel pads. I have used the boards for some soft dirt sites. And for leveling on extreme uneven sites. Worked well.

Thor tech support has been great…. Yes you are likely to make a few calls.

Suggest you go for several shakedown trips, and review all aspects of your new coach. Document problems well. Things like slide out seals, hydraulic line leaks, bay leaks when driving in rain, loose wiring connections, slideout leaks. Expensive if not caught and detected during warranty period.

Enjoy your ride, we have.

If you write or call customer service with your vin they will provide the information you need. It would make sense for 12 between length and weight.

You could just measure your jack discs manually to be sure. The disc size I’ve seen on most Thor Class As is 9”.

I put the snap pads on shortly after buying my coach. I still need to use 9x9 pressure treated boards beneath my jacks to prevent doing damage to my driveway. Without those boards it pushed dents right into my tar driveway. I’m honestly not sure what they are good for. Some say it makes the rig more stable with the jacks down, I don’t think there is any measurable study that concludes the validity in that. Anecdotally, I didn’t see a difference. Otherwise, they sort of look cool, so there is that.

We have used them since replacing the bent plates. Two year now and the Snap Pads have been great for us in the Pacific Northwest. Most sights are uneven gravel and the rubber gives and the wider footprint helps with softer ground. If it has been raining a lot and the ground is soggy, we do put down the big disks with handles.

Yeah - I have 9" plates but they are concave like ive seen mentioned on the forum. Where did you pick up the different plates?

I contacted Thor customer service and Lippert. I do not remember who but one of them sent new ones under warranty. Very easy to replace. I then put Snap Pads on and have never had them bend again.

Mine are 9”. Bent upward after several uses. Took em off and beat the crap out of them with a sledgehammer to straighten out. Then bought snap pads. If nothing else snap pads seem to keep the metal landing pads from bending. On a side note: I take the snap pads off each spring to tighten the one bolt holding the metal pads on. If you don’t keep them tight they will wallow out and fall off while traveling.
